I've never dined in at this restaurant; my experience has always involved ordering via phone, pickup, or food delivery services. The items I've tried here include French fries, steak hibachi dinner, miso soup, tempura vegetables and the Philadelphia roll.
The fries consistently arrive crispy, which I appreciate. However, the steak hibachi dinner has been a bit disappointing on multiple occasions. The meat tends to be on the tougher side and lacking in seasoning. I've given it three tries, but unfortunately, it hasn't met my expectations.
The tempura vegetables are truly outstanding - they consistently arrive crispy, never soggy, and devoid of any overwhelming oil taste. As for the miso soup, it's a refreshing delight. I appreciate the generous portions of seaweed they include; it adds a nice touch to the overall experience.
Now, when it comes to the Philadelphia roll, it's the highlight of my orders. Compared to other sushi restaurants, they provide generous-sized sushi pieces, always fresh and flavorful. I particularly enjoy that they're generous with the ginger when I request extra.
In terms of food delivery, it takes about 12 minutes from the store to my house, and the food consistently tastes good, almost as if I were dining in. Overall, it's a mixed experience, with some dishes exceeding expectations and others...

Food: Chicken Teriyaki Bento with miso soup: $8.95 + tax
The california rolls were served warm and it took from the taste some, other than that it was the expectation of a california roll. The rice is dry, would be perfered with a teriyaki sauce over it. (1) shumai is fried with a similar taste to gyoza. It was good but not what i expect when i order shumai. (1) gyoza fried perfect 🥰 would have liked a side of these actially but didn't see the option. The steamed broccoli was good and absorbed the teriyaki sauce some
The teriyaki chicken leaves a lot to be desired. I taste the chicken but almost no flavor of the teriyaki sauce. The chicken is plain. And the smount you get is barely a chicken breast (also it's white meat which makes it very dry)
The miso soup is also lacking recommend a touch of salt
Would not...
Read moreIt's rare that I feel so strongly about a restaurant that a full rating just doesn't seem to do it justice, but this is one of those instances. Toyo has not only become my go-to place for takeout and sushi but probably my most beloved restaurant in the county. The sushi is exquisite. I have been to many locations that tout having the best in town and I still find Toyo's sushi to be the most consistent at the highest caliber. The typical dishes you'd expect are all a cut above the rest. Orange chicken done in a sauce that tastes like it was made with real oranges, not some thick candy goop, beef and broccoli that melts in your mouth. All of those college meals you bought for 5$ from the nearest copycat Chinese takeout place have been elevated to a gourmet level. I just can't say enough, this place is fantastic and if you haven't tried it...
