If you're looking for a fresh Italian plate, this is not the place to go. If you want fresh calzone, Stromboli, or pizza, this may be your place. It seems that a lot of the foods are frozen food based. We ordered cheese sticks, jalapeño poppers, and garlic knots with marinara. The cheese sticks and jalapeño poppers were previously frozen and a few of the poppers had no cheese. The gatlic knots were very much fresh, baked to perfection, and delicious! I asked about the fresh eggplant, as stated on the menu, for eggplant Parmigiano and she was honest that it is frozen, "but fresh". I was concerned that it would be mushy as I have gotten at another restaurant. I went with the Shrimp Primavera, but was very disappointed as the sauce did not seem very fresh and the shrimp came with tails hidden under the pasta and seemed to have been frozen too as they did not have flavor and were chewy. There was a chunk of garlic in the dish and the only thing I enjoyed was the seemingly fresh green bell peppers in the dish. My fiance ordered the cheese tortellini with meat sauce, but the pasta was frozen based as well and a bit chewy. We ordered our family tiramisu, Stromboli, and a calzone. The Stromboli and calzone looks to be fresh, but we will see. I feel they should just serve fresh pizza, Stromboli, calzone, and garlic knots. They may save money then. (Pizzas at other tables looked delicious!) The decor does not look fit the Italian vibe or pizza place vibe. It is small and you can tell that it used to be a Larry's sub, as the yellow and black tiling in the RR still exists and they use the old pick up orders sign and the faux brick patterns. This place could use a revamp. I may return in the future for fresh pizza. The waitresses were sweet, kind, understanding,...
Read moreMost definitely not NY pizza!
I love NY pizza! I'm one of those people that feels like there's no such thing as bad pizza, some are just okay and some truly exceptional, but none bad. Well that changed when we got our first pizza from Vino's. It was without question THE WORSE PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD. I'm honestly convinced it was a frozen pizza. The cheap cheese (apparent from the texture) was piled on on one side, scarce on the other. The taste of the sauce was just plain awful. But the worst, WORST part was the tasteless cracker like crust. When you bit into it the bite just broke off, and worse, the slice broke in half if you tried to fold it. Truly reminiscent of frozen. To add insult to injury, the X large was NOT. It wasn't even large. The individual slices from this X large pizza were the same size as the well known chain pizza slices.
We also ordered the garden salad, the salad itself was fine, but the dressing most definitely tasted like bottled ranch, which of course ruined the salad once dumped on it.
My last hope were the wings. Already disappointed in the ranch, I'd eliminated that for dipping, good thing as when I bit into my first wing I discovered it PINK and undercooked. Now grateful for the bottled ranch, had I dipped the wing I might not have seen it was undercooked.
$40 bill (plus $15 tip- even though we picked it up- husband is very generous tipper) and it ALL WENT INTO...
Read moreBEWARE BEWARE. I come to this pizza place pretty regularly. The pizza isn't amazing but is usually quick and easy so 1x week visit is pretty normal because it is super close to us. This last week, had dinner and check arrives; this is where it gets interesting. Looking at my check I notice that one items is 45% more than the price displayed on the menu versus my receipt. I immediately ask the waitress and she replies oh our prices have increased we have ordered new menus but they aren't here yet. I explain that it is against state law to show a price for a product and charge another. At no time during the ordering process was I notified of any price changes. THIS IS ILLEGAL. I understand that inflation has hit everyone hard but you can't just up your prices 45% without some notification to your customers. The waitress was so argumentative and unprofessional that I took the increase out of the tip. As a former waitress, I always tip well especially now. Between the illegal price increase and poor treatment, it was my last visit. It is really sad because I believe so much in supporting small business. Thankfully, we have found another small business with a great pizza around the corner, definitely hands down the best pizza we have...
