I had no idea what to expect. I can tolerate Sushi (usually the cream cheese kind that makes real sushi e eaters cringe like wine lovers who hear someone likes White Zinfandel), so I mostly did this on a lark. The Tokyo Sushi Burrito was great. I mean, it was richly delicious with some crunch and a rich flavor. There was a seaweed wrap, but no hint of the overpowering fishy flavor that I often fear. It was huge, and I finished both ends. My wife (who is a real sushi eater -- of the non-creamcheese persuasion) got the ramen and took a taste of my burrito. She liked my Sushi Burrito as well. My wife is from the Philippines and knows of real Chinese style Market Ramen, and said that the Tokyo Ramen noodles were authentic. I have no idea how that translates to American tastes, but I saw all the little piles of things in it (Broth, Noodles. half an egg, green veggies, brown rectangular things, orange squiggly bits, etc). I'm not a big noodle guy, but my wife is a noodle enthusiast. She was happy, and had enough to get a lid and take half home to reheat (eat) later.
If you are up for some interesting fusion, I'd say, "Roll the Dice:. I'm kind'a craving it again... and I'll probably pick up one to go as we head of of town on a road trip today. This is the most interesting (new) thing that I've tried in a while. We travel quite a bit. And, this is the best new thing that I've found since Fong's Chinese Pizza (Des Moines Iowa) in 2008 and Zombie Burger (Des Moines, 2011 - with fried macaroni & chease brain bun). About $12 for their big Tokyo Sushi Burrito or Tokyo Ramen. Fair value for what you get. For 1st timers, big enough to split one between a couple who is used...
Read moreI was not at all impressed by this place. I ordered dinner to go and it took nearly an hour to get my food....to go.
When I ordered a boba, the pearls were hard and uncooked. Yuck! I even waited a long time for this boba drink. After 5 minutes of waiting, I inquired about the time and they told me "only 3 more minutes." Ten minutes later, I got the drink. Very misleading.
I've never had to wait even a third of this long for a boba drink anywhere else, even when busy.
I've been to other places with the same amount of customers with the same amount of staff yet never had to wait nearly this long.
They nickel-and-dime you for the smallest things even the side sauces.
The food itself tasted fine but wasn't particularly amazing. However, It was cold by the time we got it. Because of this and the terrible boba drink, I give the food only 2 stars.
The only thing they had going for them is that the front lady was kind. I assume she was the owner. She was a kind person.
I would not recommend this restaurant and I'm...
Read moreThe seafood ramen was absolutely delicious; the noodles sit in a bowl of broth that was heavenly. And all of the sea food was tasty and fresh on top. A truly delicious experience! Kudos to the food and wow to the perky young woman at the counter who greets everyone and is very helpful. I don't eat much in the way of noodles and pasta at home but when I was in Tokyo I really enjoyed the ramen and the soba dishes. This ramen was really just like the ramen in Tokyo except better! in Japan they use quite a bit of MSG in their broth...I don't think this Florida broth had MSG in it-- or at least much much less than they use in Tokyo.
Not fine dining...just a little place. Cute, not fancy. Clean bathrooms. Go...
