We enjoy Waffle House and it's many locations. We know we can get good ,affordable meals in a timely and friendly consistency. Today, however I was greatly disappointed. While my food was good, the service was offensive. With only 3 adults ordering simple breakfast meals it somehow got confusing with my order(scrambled eggs and an order of sausage gravy and biscuits) When Charlie arrived with portions of our orders, first scrambled eggs, then a plate of 2 sausage patties I explained that I didn't want a side of sausage and repeated my order. She then told me that isn't what I had said. I've been a restaurant manager my entire working life and this is not only rude, it's not at all proper service. She told me what she heard, instead of a simple, sorry, I misunderstood and taking the sausage away (which I then had to give to my husband and friend) she continued to go on about what "her brain" heard. Our friend picked up the check from our table which I had already said would be on my husband and myself, I reached over and we (our friend and I) had a slight tug of war with the check. Charlie then stepped in to tell me she will not tolerate fighting at her tables and she needed the check so she could "fix" it. Maybe it wasn't a good day for Charlie, I do not know, nor do I really care. Hers was very inappropriate service. I paid the check , including the sausage no one particularly wanted. Said have a better day. Handing her the signed receipt, she looked at me somewhat astonished that I put a line thru the area a tip is placed. We will continue to be a Waffle House customer, but not at this location. I get better service...
Read moreThis morning I wanted to bring my 3 friends to a Waffle House before we were departing Florida. We sat in line for like 10 minutes before we were able to get a clean seat. Our server didn't even greet us after she passed us several times. After about 10 minutes of sitting there she finally came up and said it will be a few moments because she was busy. After 10 minutes went by she finally took our drink order and about 5 minutes later she dropped our waters and coffees and then left. We didn't see her for about 20 minutes so we asked the server nearest server named Nelly who was extremely busy and asked if she could get our server. She went to the back to find her. After some time went by we all contemplated to leave but I just asked Nelly if she could take our order. She apologized for the other server's inconsistency and said that she was having a bad day. We finally saw our original server walking around slow as molasses and muttered something under her teeth to our table. She was extremely rude and yelled at the two people who were sitting behind us that sat down in her section without it being clean. Very rude and unprofessional. She was very slower than molasses (super lazy) and this lady should not be in service industry if she can't keep up or delegate her section if she cannot keep up with patrons that are coming in. Everyone has bad days, I get it but man this was the most horrible service I have ever received in my entire life. The food was mediocre. Kudos to Nelly for picking up the slack and being professional and being as pleasant as she could considering the unfavorable...
Read moreThis Waffle House location has given me quality and speedy service every time I've dined in at this specific location even at very late hours which most people overlook. As manager at a steak house, this quality consistency is something I will always respect as any other frequent flyer at this location should. The only complaint I could think of is when I called the store back around 4am after another quality Waffle House meal, to get my servers name, so I could give her the praise that she deserves as every-time she's taken care of me I've felt like I'm sitting at home talking to a family member, though the automated voice-call wouldn't connect me to an employee. The only reason why I would be complaining about that is because this employee deserves to be recognized for her excellence by someone who works in the industry as well, though I did call back at 4am so it should be considered by others and especially myself that very few chain/cooperate restaurants have the staff that is able take calls at these unreasonable hours. All in all, I'm disappointed in myself for forgetting this wonderful severs name as she told me every time she's take care of me. If you're located in south ft. Myers craving breakfast or any kinds of food at any point in your day, this restaurant is the only place I know that I've always walked out full and satisfied, along with it being a very reasonable price Which allows me to give these servers a very reasonable able tip as I recognize their hard work which the any patron may fail to recognize...
