Went to Whits with my kids for some custard and couldn’t believe how dirty this place was. Seating area was dirty, ice cream and sprinkles all over the floor, tables and chairs were dirty and sticky. They should really put some more effort in cleaning the place. Even my two young kids commented on how dirty it was.
Edit In response to the business reply: First off there were no customers there when we arrived and we stayed there for about 30 min and the place was still empty. Two other customers came in and took their ice cream to go. I did read the other reviews and what did become apparent is how rude your staff can be which I didn’t experience. The other reviews won’t change what I experienced being there. I understand families go and messes happen but staff should be on top of that. None of the teenagers that work there were even in the front, it’s not the customer’s job to notify staff that their place is dirty. Every table and chair was sticky and dirty. One employee actually walked in while we were eating, walked right by us, stepped on the sprinkles & ice cream covered floor and kept going, still not cleaning anything. You should take the criticism and try to make improvements instead of criticizing the way people raise their children. The lesson of the day for my kids was have good work ethic and pride in the job that you do. Your reply was very rude. I wish you all...

I said, “fine mix it in”, then I see the screen said it does cost me extra $0.50 cent, I asked why? She said it’s because I chose the mocha which is flavor of the day, (what?!) “how is that related I asked ?” It’s not, she said, but this flavor doesn’t include a topping. “You didn’t say that and it’s not mentioned on the wall either” she said I’m sorry., meanwhile this young lady was waiting in line behind me, I said “fine, but you serve her first and I’m paying for whatever she is getting”, she didn’t want to do that so I thanked her for waiting patiently and let her go first regardless, then I told the young lady at the counter “do you see how it looks like when you tell me one thing but the price reflects another?” She said yes, I’m sorry, I said “fine, whatever, I’ll take it, I was pulling out my credit card and then she said: ” we also charge credit card fees”… SMH … look, I run three businesses, just include everything in the price … or train your stuff better…. never seen something so stupidity run as this. Just to be fair…they did voluntarily let me taste the mocha ice cream before I even ordered anything and it was good. Too bad I could have been a repeated customer easily if not for...
Read moreTonight, on December 17th after dinner, my brother and sister in law took my wife and I to Whit’s. With us visiting from Washington State, my in laws raved about the custard at Whits!
It did not disappoint. We arrived around 8:30 on a Friday night and the custard parlor was fairly busy. You could choose between Vanilla, chocolate, or Andes Mint Custard. Plus, you could add a variety of toppings. I opted for the vanilla custard with hot fudge and butterfinger. My wife got the “Kid Scoop” of Andes Mint and she added chocolate syrup, cookie dough and sprinkles.
It was a delightful dessert. The custard’s consistency was perfect. The prices were fair, customer service exceptional, and the atmosphere was what you would expect an ice cream shop to be.
I highly recommend this place. You will not be...
