The WORST Zaxby's I've ever been to. To preface this, my husband and I both worked at Zaxby's in a different state in our late teens, so we know cook procedures, what typically comes with what in a meal.
Let's start at the beginning of our journey. We pulled up to the Zaxby's drive thru about 3:15pm and there are absolutely no other cars in line. We got a kickin' chicken with honey mustard on the side and a zax snack with tongue torch on the side. I asked for a Coke zero vanilla with my meal. They said they don't have vanilla. They advertise Coke Freestyle, so I asked for cherry instead and it took them 10 seconds to make sure they even had cherry too. They ended up having it. Okay, cool! We get to the window and are asked to pull up, also fine! That's how you know it'll be fresh! Well, we sit for approximately 12 minutes, watching 4 more cars pile up. Like I said, we worked there and we know the fry times. At this point there's no way they're still cooking our food. We get our food. They forgot my husband's honey mustard. We park and he goes inside to get his honey mustard. He walks inside and as soon as the two front workers see him, THEY WALK INTO THE BACK. He finally gets help and leaves soon after.
He starts eating his sandwich in the car only to realize it's super old. It looked overdone and tasted like reheated microwave chicken. They literally re-fried old chicken and the bread is stale af. Why did we even need to pull up?! We get home and I notice they didn't put zax sauce in my meal either. I've been going to Zaxby's for over a decade and I've been getting the same exact order since 2009. Never in my life have I had to specify to put zax sauce in the zax snack WITH the extra tongue torch. Just.... Ugh. Will not be returning. Garbage.
I'm also VERY sympathetic to fast food workers. The cashier at the window was not happy at all. She was very monotone with a straight face and I literally said to my husband, "she hates her job and I don't blame her." Well, you can hate your job, but don't waste people's time that have done literally...
Read moreOn December 26th around 5:00 ish I cracked a tooth on upper part of my mouth on a fry that looked totally normal. The fry or at least part of it was hard as a rock. It wasn’t till I went to the dentist about a week later to get checked that I found it was cracked. Their sorry Hartford insurance expected me to save the fry in order to cover the cracked tooth which has to be pulled completely out and implanted or bridged. I swallowed part of the fry and dropped the rest when it happened according to my wife just before she looked at it and I rushed to the bathroom to look at it. If they have security camera footage they’d probably see the whole thing! So no insurance coverage just because I didn’t save it? Tooth repair plus loss of work to get it fixed (I am self employed) is going to cost me a lot of money (I’d say around 5k at minimum) that I don’t have right now. Extremely disappointed and just mentally frustrated, exhausted, tired from this whole debacle. All I wanted was “help” to pay for this. I don’t think half is too much to ask in this case. My insurance was new starting in 2024 and it has a 12 month waiting period to help pay for this kind of tooth damage. My gums are swelling and still waiting for the Feb 1st date for oral surgeon to pull it. Just so tired and frustrated over this whole mess. Did so much paper work...
Read moreThis was our first time coming back to Zaxby's after the bad experiences we've have had in the past. My husband wanted to give it another shot so we did, big mistake! We got through our ordering process after being told they no longer do milkshakes or fried pickles which we got over. We go to make our drinks and every drink in the 100 drink machine is out and when we asked for drinks they make it seem like it was an inconvenience for them. We get our food and of course like every other time we have been it's not hot. I ordered the new chicken fillet sandwich and bit into it and it was still pink!! I didn't talk to anyone obviously because of the way their attitudes were after we asked for our drinks, not to mention the managers pants hanging off his behind. So we left, throwing our hard earned money away only to go somewhere else to eat. I highly suggest you properly train your employees to do better with not only customer service, but lord how hard is it to change a drink machine and cook...
