Ahoy, seafood lovers! Just back from Pensacola, and my taste buds are still singing sea shanties about The Lobster Cage. If you're anywhere near this charming Florida town, do yourself a favor and drop anchor at this nautical-themed treasure trove of crustacean goodness.
Lobster Rolls That Rock the Boat:
Let's set sail with the stars of the show: the lobster rolls. I snagged both the warm with hot butter and lemon and the cold with mayo and chives, and let me tell you, they were a study in lobstery perfection. The warm roll was a buttery brioche hug overflowing with sweet, succulent lobster мŃŃŠ¾, the melted butter glistening like sunlit pearls. Each bite was a burst of briny bliss, the delicate lobster flavor dancing on the buttery stage.
The cold roll was a different kind of magic. Chunks of chilled lobster, firm and springy, tossed in a creamy, tangy mayo with a whisper of chives. Every bite was a refreshing explosion of summer on the seashore, the mayo perfectly complementing the natural sweetness of the lobster.
Lobster Beyond the Roll:
But The Lobster Cage's siren song doesn't stop there. I also dove into the lobster quesadillas ā crispy pockets of golden goodness oozing with melty cheese and generous chunks of lobster. Each bite was a molten treasure map leading to a land of cheesy, lobstery delight.
And then there was the lobster mac n' cheese ā a rich, creamy masterpiece studded with tender lobster and a crunchy parmesan crust. It was like a warm hug for your soul, the perfect comfort food with a luxurious lobster upgrade.
More Than Just Lobsters:
While the lobsters take center stage, The Lobster Cage has plenty to offer non-crustacean fans too. Their catch of the day changes with the tides, ensuring fresh, seasonal options. And their sides, like the crispy fries and the tangy coleslaw, are perfect complements to any main course.
Setting Sail for Flavortown:
The atmosphere at The Lobster Cage is as charming as the food. Nautical dƩcor, friendly service, and a lively buzz make it a place where you can relax, unwind, and indulge in your love for all things lobster.
So, if you're looking for a Pensacola dining experience that's sure to reel you in and leave you wanting more, The Lobster Cage is your catch. With its succulent lobster rolls, creative lobster dishes, and warm, inviting atmosphere, it's a guaranteed voyage to Flavortown. Just be sure to bring your appetite ā you'll need it!
Final Verdict:
5 out of 5 anchors! The Lobster Cage is a Pensacola must-visit for anyone who loves fresh seafood, friendly service, and a touch of nautical charm. Weigh anchor and set sail for this crustacean paradise ā you won't regret it!
P.S. Don't forget to check out their daily specials for even more lobstery goodness!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdited to reply to DJ: the comment about driving that far for an expensive lobster roll wasn't about yours, it was about a delicious one in Maine. I was just explaining it wasn't the cost that turned me off to your establishment, it was the terrible meal we received. You say the picture I posted is a "generous portion", but it wasn't even enough lobster to fill the whole roll. You're right about it being "smothered in garlic butter", as my husband said "I ate more bread and butter than lobster". Maybe this meal wasn't up to your standards but as a chef of 15+ years, this place and your response is a disappointment; I don't believe the customer is always right, but neither is the restaurant. No one wanted to love this place more than I did, and you would have earned another repeat customer, who spends good money on food, but calling a customer a liar is a wild business tactic that I don't support.
I once drove 4.5 hours for an $80 lobster roll.
This place isn't worth the cost at all. Probably the worst coleslaw I've ever had. The lobster roll was somehow flavorless, with an ant's size portion of lobster. Should have listened to my roommate who said "we're from maine, why would we get a lobster roll...

Let me just say: WOW! The Lobster Cage has a simple menu, but the items are a unique blend of Thai and New England origins!
Atmosphere: The restaurant is a little whole-in-the-wall with limited seating and a big mom-and-pop vibe! Service: The people here are awesome. We received friendly service, and the orders were prepared so quickly! Menu items: I just got the Warm Lobster Roll with a side of potato salad. The lobster roll was scrumptious (thatās rightāI had to find a strong adjective to describe it). They add a lemon on the side to add a varied flavor profile. Also, Iām usually not a big fan of potato salad, but this one was salted and peppered to perfectionš¤š¼
Iāve had a couple of lobster rolls in Pensacola and one in Maine. This place really caters to the New England style and adds its own uniqueness with the Thai infused dishes! Iāll definitely be coming back to try more items like the Lobster Grilled Cheese, Lobster and Thai Infused Pasta, and Lobster...
