Waffle House — Restaurant in Florida

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. my sister came in tonight 12/25 @ 9pm. she placed a togo order on the phone. arrived & apparently the server couldn't understand how to spell her name???? so she gave up on bothering to see what the name was. this felt very racial because we have a spanish name. people came in, big orders. everyone got their food. can you guess what????? our togo order was there the entire time. if the server would have even SLIGHTLY listened to her last name, none of this would've happened. it's IGNORANT. if someone has a complicated last name maybe ask for their first name??????????? or maybe make a simple list of the togo orders ready???? i'm sure a company this big can figure it out so this time of thing does not happen again.

This is me and my husband's go to Waffle House! Love it. The service is always so nice, and the food is cooked great, even on an accidental messed up with my eggs they were apologetic and quick to fix it. (Side note) during our visit for breakfast last week a homeless gentleman came in asking to work for free food, the employee explained that was against their policy and they apologized for it and the man left a little upset . A few minutes later The waitress (I can't remember her name) followed him outside and started to take his order. She either took it upon herself to pay for him or a customer she was serving offered to add the order to their bill. Melinda, our server, was quite attentive and helpful in helping us understand the recent modifications to the menu, with recommendations for how best to order what we desired. (In general, I have found breakfast menus everywhere are poorly designed for finding what the individual wants for breakfast, because, let's face it, everyone wants their breakfast fully customized, and the cheaper options are seldom what anyone wants.) That said, what I had was as I'd expect it to be, even though I don't prefer Tabasco brand hot sauce.
