La Pâtisserie STL — Restaurant in Florissant

Wow. This is just unbelievable. My stepmom and I went here for the first time ever for a cake tasting. We were so excited and had such high expectations for this place. The lady had us pick out desserts from the cases. When we cut into a first dessert which was Petit chou à la mangue. It had MOLD! A huge part in the middle. It smelled so bad. We told the lady and she offered to replace it. How long do these desserts sit in the case? To let them get moldy. Not only that. There was chocolate mousse in the glass case. That is sold at Costco! I know this because I literally have them at home. I highly doubt that this is the only dessert that is store bought. I find this just not right. Why are you selling mousse that’s from Costco? You can’t make it yourself? I will say the vibe and decorations were gorgeous! So We tried to get past the moldy dessert. But everything was stale and not that good. I am sadden by this as this is a small business. I was excited fresh new homemade desserts. I hate to make a bad review on a small business. But they need to fix this. What I like the business. It was a day before Valentines Day of 2021. My daughter made a suggestion of seeing what they had for my wife. I know my wife like chocolate covered strawberries. When went in the business I told them what I was looking for and when I say I was knocked off my feet of the presentation of the chocolate strawberries they looked like something I haven't seen before. My wife said they were very good and sweet strawberries. Also since my daughter made the suggestion I got her something also. She got Tres Leches. When I seen that in the display I had to get that because I remember when she was in Mexico and Ecuador she was very excited about it. She loved it also. I absolutely LOVE macarons & had a craving for some so, I googled, "french macarons" near me & this establishment popped up. I was hesitant on purchasing the macarons due to their size & appearance but, I went against my gut & spent $19.35 for 6. I got home, tasted each one & was absolutely disappointed & disgusted! First off, they were EXTREMELY dry & crumbly, the amount of sweetness was INSANE & they were just HORRIBLE!!!
