I will start this with saying we are definitely classic diner breakfast people. Dix is not that. The restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, pretty, clean and preset for inviting guests to any open table. The gym next door had their music pumping so loud you could feel the base at our booth on the other side of the restaurant, not Dix’s fault they just have bad neighbors. On a Saturday morning at 9:30a I would expect to see more than 6 full tables. But yea for us no wait! We were greeted immediately and service was pretty average.
My husband struggled with finding pancakes, eggs and a breakfast meat all together. If you like overly sweet or gravy coated breakfast this is a great spot for you! You will have lots of options. He ended up ordering the simple stack and adding 2 eggs for an extra $4 and sharing my breakfast meat I got with my Country breakfast. He was very disappointed in the pancakes, they were dry and the syrup was like Carmel sauce. I had the country breakfast with scrambled eggs, hash browns, turkey sausage and biscuits with gravy. My eggs were light and fluffy, the gravy was super flavorful but the biscuits were flat and hard. We were both bummed in the no pork options, for breakfast meats. The hash browns were mushy and had no seasoning on them. My drip coffee was ok. I was asked if I would like a coffee to go, that was nice. Over all we spent just over $40 with tip and it was ok but I just don’t think we are the clientele Dix is...

The food is very good. We had ribeye steak & over medium eggs + traditional breakfast with scrambled, eggs, house-made hash browns & beef bacon. It was very good but did take an exceptionally long time - over 30 minutes to arrive from the kitchen. It was not a ‘high volume’ time. The decor is pretty. Even the bathrooms are very nice. Very clean & not too noisy. It is very pricy. $4 for a good cup of regular brew Joe and a $4 glass of iced tea. $15 - $17 breakfast & lunch entrees. None of the breakfast combos come with pancakes or waffles as an option so you have to spend at least $8 more for them or do a plate share with one person ordering pancakes or waffles & another getting a breakfast combo with French toast or biscuits as a choice. A table next to us did the plate share thing & their blueberry pancakes did look great, as did their cinnamon roll French toast. In the 30+ minutes we waited for our food, our waitress was at the bar area scrolling through her phone. My wife commented that a $4 drink shouldn’t run dry with a lost waitress…. Especially brewed coffee at breakfast… There is a small waiting area & if there’s a line when you arrive, you should expect a pretty long wait to be seated since the kitchen is so slow. All in all, if Dix can ever embrace a need to get their kitchen hopping & get the wait staff to learn that keeping full drinks is a priority, this could be a nice stop for an occasional $50 breakfast/brunch (with tip) for...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I recently visited Dix Cafe, and unfortunately, the experience was one of the worst we’ve had at any restaurant.
To start, the service was shockingly poor. Our server never once checked on us during our entire meal—no refills, no “how’s everything,” not even a basic acknowledgment. Meanwhile, tables around us were given regular attention, making us feel ignored and, honestly, like we didn’t belong. The noticeable difference in treatment raised the uncomfortable possibility that it may have been racially motivated, which only added to our discomfort.
The food didn’t redeem the visit either. It was bland, served lukewarm, and seriously under-seasoned. We were especially disappointed by the coffee—it was weak, watered down, and barely resembled coffee at all. To make matters worse, the table was poorly stocked, with barely any sugar packets to try and salvage it.
To top it off, our server didn’t even bother to bring us the check. After waiting a while, I had to get up and go to the counter to ask someone to bring it. When she finally did, she dropped it on the table without a word and walked away as if we were inconveniencing her.
Overall, Dix Cafe was a letdown from start to finish. Poor service, forgettable food, and a sense of being unwelcome made for a deeply unpleasant experience. I would not recommend this...
