So had to go to Walgreens to pickup a prescription and happened to drive by this “bagel” place. Bagel shops so uncommon and it’s my partners most favorite food so I had to stop in on Sunday around 11am. Ordered the salmon Lox bagel for him, a bacon, egg, and cheese poppy seed bagel, a dozen Everything Bagels, and a pound of homemade plain cream cheese. These bagels are awesome. Besides the breakfast bagel which got toasted, they don’t normally toast bagels unless asked. The texture of the bagels is amazing you get to really enjoy the interior of the bagels nothing like the chain bagel places. Very awesome experience. The owner (which I heard her mention she’s actually from New York) was very appreciative and welcoming. At the same time very efficient on getting the orders out quickly. I’m sure she’s fun to work with you can just tell her personality. She even let me know how to properly store the bagels and let me know since they’re not full of preservatives can last couple weeks in fridge - who’d ever guess that’s possible? Definitely be back for more probably this weekend. Hopefully they’ll have sesame seed bagels in stock when I come back those are my favorite. Before posting this review I read several of the other reviews. Owning my own restaurant & bar I like to go through reviews and the one that caught me off guard was someone rating 1 star because they closed “early” because they ran out of bagels. Seriously? Rating someone one star and hurting a business for something clearly out of their control is ridiculous. Now like me this owner doesn’t take to BS reviews and bite her tongue she responds and I love that - too many customers are so petty they use reviews to screw a business and it’s their lack of upbringing in a decent family I guess. So I’ll be back and this time I’ll make sure to tell others to stop by and leave good reviews for their great product and service - because to make up for the whiners that left 1 star we have to replace with finding...

As a bagel aficionado, let me start by saying, NYC bagels are simply the best. I’ve always been loyal to Absolute Bagels in the Big Apple, and outside of NYC, I’ve never found a bagel that could compare. That is, until I discovered Boil & Bake Bagels in Justin, TX.

If you know, you know. If not, you better have a friend in the hospitality industry who does. Boil & Bake Bagels is the hidden gem you didn’t know you were missing. They don’t advertise, they don’t bother with anything other than their ten classic varieties, and they certainly don’t cater to millennial modifications. It’s simply OG bagels and cream cheese 101, and they nail it every time.

Pro tip: get there 30 minutes before they open to ensure you don’t make a wasted trip. When they sell out, they close up shop, no exceptions.

The owner, a true bagel connoisseur from Brooklyn, insists that you shouldn’t toast their bagels. This way, you can fully appreciate the complexity of the dough. So, here’s my suggestion: buy two. One her way, no toasting, to savor the authentic texture and flavor. And one my way, lightly toasted with cream cheese on the side. Let it cool just a bit so the creamy, elegant texture of their perfect schmear doesn’t melt.

Boil & Bake Bagels in Justin, TX is the real deal. Trust me, it’s worth the early wake-up call. You’ll feel like you’re biting into a piece of NYC, right...

I’ve never really been a fan of bagels, even when I was living in NYC. The bagels I used to eat from time to time were dry or hard from being toasted, and the cream cheese was so thick, I would feel constipated for like 4 days.

Then, when my boyfriend discovered Boil and Bake, I was forever changed. The fresh bagels are soft on the inside, chewy on the outside, and incredibly flavorful. Not the mention their out-of-this-world cream cheese. Seriously, I’ve never tasted cream cheese so good. It doesn’t even make me feel disgustingly full like any other cream cheese.

We started getting one bagel from Boil and Bake each weekend, but my addiction has been growing strongly, and now we’ve been buying 3 twice a week! The onion bagel and salt bagel are to die for. I regularly have dreams about her scallion cream cheese. In fact, I'm so obsessed with their bagels, I have raved about them to my coworkers over and over, and they don't even live in Texas!

Your bagels literally motivate me to get out of bed early on a Saturday and enjoy breakfast, which I've always hated. Saturdays have now been called "Bagel Day" and is easily one of the highlights of every weekend.

Your bagels and spread on top of your authentic hospitality have really set a new standard for me. I hope you know how much joy you and your bagels bring to me. Now please, take a damn day off - you...

***UPDATE - was just in a couple days ago, November 2024, and there is signage posted starting Jan 01 2025 they will be cash only. Not a bad thing but something to be aware of*** Have lived in town for a couple years now and just made my way over this morning. Wanted something different (and prefer to support small biz when possible). I walked in and looked at the menu, Ann Marie behind the counter was super helpful in describing all the items. I would up with a salt bagel and veggie cream cheese that was absolutely amazing and very reasonable priced. I am already planning my next visit to this place and cant wait to try other items. FYI there was a sign inside that asked to pay with cash if possible, but they do still take card. Will try to remember to carry cash next time.

First time trying this spot! 10/10 One of the best bagels I’ve had, other than in New York. The bagels itself is so soft and fresh tasting. I got everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, YUMMY! And the PB&J on cinnamon raisin bagel, Yummy as well. I had asked for it toasted but the owner had said it’s better not toasted because it’s freshly made that day. She was right, it tasted better not being toasted. They make everything in house, including cream cheese fresh with no preservatives. You can taste the freshness in the bagel and cream cheese is so creamy. They do not skimp on the cream cheese, best part. Will definitely be back often.
