My grandson had a craving for Indian food so we made a first visit to this Urban Tadka on a Friday evening. It was not busy; maybe 20-25% of the tables were occupied. We got drinks (water & cokes since it's otherwise BYOB) very promptly but then there was quite a wait to place our order. That was more notable because my grandson, having just completed a swim practice, was famished and not amenable to delay. Given the scarcity of customers, not sure why this was the case.
We got some samosa and Gobhi Pakora (battered & fried cauliflower); I only tried the samosa which was quite good. My son-in-law and daughter enjoyed the Gobhi Pakora. My grandson was dubious about the samosa but wound up finding it to his liking.
The rest of the meal was also a bit slow in arriving, although it was obvious each dish is prepared to order and that perhaps explains the timing.
We had Kadai Paneer, a biryani (ordered by my daughter - I missed the detail), Chicken Makhni (Tikka in sauce) and the Bukhara Daal. The presentations were quite good, each in a dish fitting it nicely.
The Kadai Paneer was a favorite from my times in India and, when available, serves as one of my benchmarks for an Indian restaurant. We did go "mild" to be safe but it was still quite tasty. I often find the proportion of paneer here is far less than what got in India and that was the case.
The Bukhara Daal is not quite as thick as my favorite at THE Bukhara in Delhi, but the taste is very good. My grandson focused on this and a basket of buttered naan to the exclusion of the other choices. He shoveled it in quickly and then found himself stuffed before getting to the chicken. He also realized he'd been wrong to insist on the sauced disk as the Chicken Tikka he's liked before was the dry version.
I didn't sample the Biryani but it seemed to be well received.
Our Naan basket included some "bullet" naan with hot pepper sprinkles - something I'd not encountered before. I didn't really notice the spice but my son-in-law found it a bit much. I thought we were getting some garlic naan but didn't get any myself. But the naan went quickly.
We wound with a fair amount of leftovers to take home.
Pricing was perhaps a bit above mid-level for such cuisine but the quality was good enough to warrant that. I would consider ordering ahead, especially with impatient youngsters.
My grandson wound up very happy and extremely full, and he noted we needed to add this place to our favorites. So, yes, I...

Hi Karan Singh, The horrible service I was referring to is your rude behavior and terrible attitude with a customer. You have absolutely no clue on restaurant etiquette (listening to a customer) let alone be a manager. I have been to hundreds of restaurants over the last 20 years due to extensive work related travel and this is THE WORST experience I ever had that prompted me to write my first review.
The tablemates you are referring to are 2 families with 2 children. You created a story in your response quite nicely to your advantage.
When we sat at the table there was a car in the parking lot with the head lights on and it was difficult to see. We requested you to close the curtain since the car did not leave the parking lot and you rolled your eyes with an attitude before reluctantly closing the curtains. If you feel belittled (as you mentioned) to be in a restaurant, then hand this job to someone who does it sincerely.
We have absolutely no complaints on the waitress who served us. She did forget to get raita for Biryani but that does happen. The biryani we ordered did not have raita and we had to ask for it twice and the raita / biryani did not have onions. The spinach chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh were salty which we did not complain. It is a flat out lie that there was a slice of onion, there was a "string" of onion with the fish pakora. We asked the waitress about the same and she wanted to correct it but returned empty handed since she was scared to talk to someone (which we later found out was you, The manager).
We asked the waitress that we want to talk to Mr Happy (the owner). You came because we asked for Mr. Happy by name. In a rude tone, you tried to upsell a salad for the condiment missing in the Biryani (just like another reviewer noted that you tried charge for a piece of lime) that should have been there in the first place.
With respect to your last paragraph, our tablemates are residents of Flower Mound for 18 years. Please don’t create a picture that you are here to do a community service with your restaurant. That is like me telling you that I came to your restaurant to...

Wife and I previously had a good experience that was ruined by this bad experience... quickly.
Order: Butter Chicken and Vegetable Biryani (which should be renamed to potato biryani)
Issue: Bones in everything... even the vegetable biryani.
At first I thought some of it was some sort of spice/flavoring/seed, but my wife suddenly pulled out a bone from her biryani. We tried to eat through what we could be ultimately threw away the food and called the restaurant who insisted we bring back the food so the kitchen look at it. The assured us "the biryani is cooked separately" yet... there was definitely bones in there. (Check the picture of the biryani for one long bone.)
We did not accept the offer to go out of our way to "bring the food back so they can investigate and check." Quite honestly that's a bit gross, and the fact I am going out of my way to call and inform them of this is ludicrous. Maybe someone in the past scammed them, but we even offered to show the pictures and we didn't even mention compensation.
Due to this, we will no longer eat here we cannot trust that quality of the food and if you are vegetarian I highly suggest you see what the resolution of this is.
If you indeed want to reach out to me in regards to this feel free to refund the ID number on that receipt and post an email where I can reach out to you. However, if you try and refute by stating "we offered for you to bring back the food." Then I do not believe we have any reason to communicate and this review will remain. The wife and I will have to search for a new Indian cuisine place in...
