As of April 25th: I may have to go back and decrease my other reviews’ atmosphere star ratings because THIS is atmosphere and this is the least impressive thing about this experience. Glazed is only $1.00 each and 11 a dozen. The store owner is incredibly kind. Her story is on the wall and it’s very inspiring. I tried paying for two glazed and two chocolate glazed but for some reason it stated that there was an error using my PayPal Mastercard touchpad on the merchants end. We tried a few more times and it kept coming up but it seems like it wasn’t taking and that was my only form of payment. I told her that it was okay and I’ll be back tomorrow but she insisted and gave me the donuts for free. She didn’t know this but I’m a higher level guide for Google maps so I definitely wanted to do a review as a result of my experience here. I’m critical of food (look at my prior reviews) and I will absolutely be 100% honest about the donuts.. they are phenomenal. But I need to explain why they are phenomenal. They are the perfect combination of the fluffy doughnuts I always feel Koreans are well known for but it also has density to it like what I would call “church doughnuts” that the grandmothers would take to church to give us in south Texas (almost similar to the density of Shipleys but fluffier). I personally love the place and after going to at least 20 doughnut shops in the area, I’ve found mine. I’ll need to try out the vegan ones to see how they are as I have a vegans friend or two and I’ll update when I get the chance though I plan on trying everything.
Absolutely try these donuts for the quality and I think the rest will have...

Look, I eat a lot of donuts. I grew up on Shipley, discovered Krispy Kreme as an adult... Dunkin also exists. One of the most bizarre yet charming things about Texas is the donut-store-on-every-block phenomenon and I'm here for it. But for all the variety, none can hold a candle to Sara's Donut Story.
The ambiance alone is worth the visit -- you walk in and it's like a Miyazaki wonderland. You're always greeted with a cheerful hello and a smile by lovely ladies who work there. You simply can't not be happy there. It's impossible.
And then of course... the donuts. If you've never been, let me just say that you are not prepared. You'll probably want one of everything. I've added pictures (sorry I didn't get any of the decor) to tell the story.
Our go-to favorites include the Chantilly Cream Donut, the Strawberry Shortcake Donut, the Smores Donut, and the Belgian Chocolate Lavender Donut. But you really can't go wrong. Everything is delicious. Want a savory treat? Try the bulgogi dumplings. And of course if you're a normie their glazed donuts are great, and their kolaches are all top notch as well.
My only warning is: get there early! Obviously there's a fine art to making just enough gourmet donuts to avoid waste, so if you get there after 9:30 or 10, you might find slim pickin's! But that's hardly...

Update: We moved to Forney and I just miss Sara's. The donuts and the people. The owner is the sweetest and kindest person you'll ever meet. The donuts are unlike anything you'll ever taste. I've even gone on my own personal donut journey trying to find contentment in my new neighborhood. Nope. Nothing compares. I've even considered maybe just buying a retirement home closer 😅 so I can visit more. If you have not had Sara's donuts, stop the madness! Go! Get a strawberry shortcake.

THIS IS THE BEST DONUT YOU WILL EVER EAT. This sis truly our favorite place. We went looking for an amazing donut place for my daughter's 9th bday. Sara was closer to where we were so we gave it a shot and it is now our happy place. The owner, Sara, is just as sweet as the baked goods she sells. Everything is familial feeling in that place including the art created by her kids. Its awesome. My favorite is the strawberry shortcake. The fruit is always fresh and delicious. Its a bite that lingers in your spirit. Everything here is amazing. We are looking forward to getting their in time to try the Korean Barbeque croissant before they sell out. Do yourself a solid self care moment and go here. You'll love yourself more with each bite. It's...
