I’m so sad. I used to love this place so so much. 60 year old man that has nothing better to do than cuss and yell. I was starting to become a new regular. I have came over the years for the bakery, but not the coffee. The new barista man was so rude to me on my third visit. This is over the course of a week. My first visit was not bad. He charged me $3.66 for an iced late with white chocolate and macadamia nut syrup. He poured so much syrup in it was probably 4 oz. The coffee did not need any half and half at all it was so sweet. You couldn’t even taste the coffee. The next time I go in, I ask him to make it with less syrup please. I order the exact same thing and he charges me $5.30. He made it different too, he used 4 shots of espresso which is insane. And about an entire cup of half and half. Gross! It tasted good but that’s an insane amount of caffeine. The next day I go in, I ask him; “do you have an iced coffee for $3.66 like you charged me the first time?” It was too expensive yesterday and I would like to order something cheaper, what do you have for around that price?” He slaps his hands on the table and says “I don’t give a damn what I charged you the first time this is what I’m charging you now.” And I tried to ask him why the price was different and what changed?” And he stands up, walks around the counter and gets closer and says I don’t care what you’re saying, it’s going to be $4.11 no matter what you say.” None of that was needed and he could’ve kindly recommended me with something more affordable or explained why the price changed. Highly disrespectful and unprofessional. I ended up leaving and going somewhere else. The bakery owner was there and apologized profusely and offered me something from the bakery. Go to the bakery, do not...
Read moreI love the elbow room. I grew up going there and have always loved the atmosphere. However, today made me very disappointed. I was standing outside with my family and friends and our 1.5 year olds under the awning trying to get out of the rain at the harvest festival. Our kids were playing and because they are 1.5 years old, they saw a window and wanted to put their hands on it. They hit their hands on the window, we saw it happen and immediately told them to stop and not touch the window. Not 30 seconds later we were approached by a very rude man who ran our use and began to yell at us saying “those were original 1800s glass pane windows and are very breakable and they need to stop banging on them because they will shatter and cut their arms off”…along with some other rude comments. We understand that, that was why we told them to stop and they stopped. But he wouldn’t have known that because he didn’t hear us tell them to stop. He was clearly very pissed, maybe he was having a bad day or something so I tried to brush it off, but once I told a family member about the encounter, they also shared a not pleasant experience they had with him, involving getting yelled at for asking a question about a price of an item. I’m not sure who this man was or why he is so rude to people but because he was so rude and outlandish, it made the end of the day a bummer. There were so many different ways he could have handled that. I’m not sure I’ll give my business there again after today and that makes me a little sad because of all my good memories there, but I don’t want to encounter that guy again. If he doesn’t like people he for sure shouldn’t be working at a...
Read moreCame back here because I recently remembered their INCREDIBLE bagels from years back when I used to work in the town, and decided to make a morning of it and try the connecting coffee shop too. Both the bakery woman and man at the coffee counter were very kind. Him especially, he showed patience, kindness and offered all solutions for what I was trying to get to drink. I did not end up liking the coffee but I think that’s just because I chose house brew with flavored syrup in an almond milk froth. The fancy drink probably are great! Anyway, I brought my cat and they were all for it and welcomed us back open armed. If you’re around the area, stop in!
Cash or check only! Super affordable. Under $5 for both my coffee and bagel with...
