Came today and got some cooked crawfish. They were super dry and pretty over cooked to say the least. I got Medium heat and they were way too hot for me to even eat. I gave them to my friend who likes heat, and she ate a couple of them and spit out the last two because they had an old rotten taste to them. Called them about the heat issue before my friend had them, and was told they can give me half off next time I came in. But now that my friend wonât even eat them, we definitely wonât be back. Donât waist your time or money, $5.99 a pound for overcooked, old crawfish.
Iâll edit since I canât reply back to their comment to me. I called initially to just tell them about the heat issue, and the gentleman I spoke to said âwe will put your name on a tab and take care of you next time you come inâ. Which I would only assume ment theyâd replace my food. When I called them back to see if I could just have someone come pick them up for me (thinking it would just be a replacement of crawfish), a lady answered and told me that they warn people that medium heat is HOT when they order medium, which I then replied that I was never told that, at all. She asked what the gentleman I last spoke to said heâd charge me when I came back, to which I replied that he just told me heâd take care of me next time I was in. She then told me âwell I can give you half offâ which I just responded âoh okayâ. I was never informed I had to come then to get it, that they we remaking my food right then. The man told me he was putting my name down for next time I came in. I was looking past the dry-ness thinking it was just too hot for me, and thatâs why i maybe thought it seemed dry. To then my friend had a few and couldnât eat them because of how overcooked and dry they were. And even a few had to be spit out because it was...
Read moreWife and I did early dinner here this afternoon. Our first time. It was a great experience because we got to know the owner and his mother. We ordered the special: 20 good sized steamed shrimp, halve ear of corn, two red potatoes and cocktail sauce. $9.99 plus tax each. We ate outside under a tree with a slight breeze. Very pleasant. My wife had the Lemmon pepper seasoning while I had the hot. My wife loved hers, but could only eat 9 of the 20 shrimp. Mine was slightly overcooked, but still very good and only ate 15 of the 20. Suggestion, pay a dollar more, each, and have the shrimp peeled and deveined.. This is not an eat in restaurant, but an order and go. Overall rating, is great steamed shrimp for a super great price. We both would recommend the place. THEY...
Read moreI met the owner at the Foley farm market and we had a long chat about shrimp, freshness etc. He promised me that the Royal Reds were "sweet" and my satisfaction was guaranteed with my purchase. I bought 2 pounds of frozen Reds, 2 filets of Grouper and 2 filets of snapper....the fish was frozen as well and he promised that it was fresh. When I took it home and cooked the shrimp for dinner, it was SO fishy, by far not "sweet" as he described. The next night we thawed and cooked the Grouper, it did not smell fishy before we cooked it, but it smelled and tasted terrible after cooking. I brought all of the cooked and still frozen food back for a refund and he refused. He said that he would only exchange. Bad business, bad policy, bad fish and...
