Or server was kind enough to stay late and made the experience awesome for my 8 year old daughter. There is also a nice old upright piano for people to play, I hope to come back and tune it for them, the whole staff is very kind to old hippy looking musician types and their kids. We shared a huge "cowboy" steak and baked potato, the portion was large enough to feed us both and a good sized steak left over to take home to mommy! The steak came with a huge salad (enough for 2-3) lots of good bread with real butter, and a small pot of beans that we spit 3 ways. Teresa enjoyed a kids size sunday for dessert and our host made fresh coffee for us. He also sent us home with an extra serving of bread as it was the end of the night and they aren't like to serve day old bread, everything was fresh and nice to eat. I made it a point to tell the manager what a wonderful experience we had, I think our servers name was Ben, but I'm not sure. I don't think that I can pass this place up for a meal just off hwy 50, I remember eating there with my father after camping trips in the mountain. All of this was under $50, I left a 25% tip and I think Teresa also slipped the server some of her pocket money too. It was sooo worth it! We might have had pasta nearby for around twice the amount if they were even close to accommodating someone, showing up late, looking hungry with shabby clothes, and a kid.

It was a very busy night. They ran out of cups, so we didn't get drinks until 30 mins into service. Even with online reservations, we waited an extra 15 mins to be seated. Our waiter was very friendly and made sure we had what we needed. We got 2 dinners for two since it was our first time dining there and we wanted to try everything. We all ordered the ribeye. The cut was quite thin for a steakhouse, 2 were medium and 2 were well done. They all tasted the same, dry, no flavor, no seasoning. The artichoke cheese dip was very good. Tumbleweed onions came on our steaks, so there was too much, and we didn't really care for it. Honestly, I thought it was going to be onion rings or bloom. Baked potatoes were a great side. Butter doesn't come on it, so you'll have to ask for a side. The house bread, sourdough was delicious, only served half a loaf at a time. The house salad was good, fresh cut ingredients. We asked if the beans could be substituted for a different side and was told no. It was a very small portion for 4 people, and it looks like only a handful. It was cold when it came out, but it probably would have tasted better if it came out hot. The desserts were delicious, and it was a great way to end the dinner service!

I had the 20oz Cowboy Steak and let me tell you—this steak was to die for. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and seasoned just right. It had that smoky char on the outside with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center that made every bite worth savoring. The sage butter ited it all together super well. The baked potato was the ultimate comfort side—fluffy inside, crispy skin, loaded just the way I like it. I also tried the balsamic Brussels sprouts, and wow—flavor bomb! Slightly crispy, a little tangy from the balsamic glaze, and a great contrast to the richness of the steak. To top it off, I had the salted caramel martini, and it was a total treat—sweet, smooth, and dangerously good. Definitely one of the better cocktails I’ve had in a while. If you’re craving a hearty, flavorful meal in a classic steakhouse setting, Cattleman’s is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming back for round two!

We have been long time loyal customers, 20+ years, that is until tonight. We had even still ordered food "To Go" during COVID, to help support them. During that time, we noted the quality of the food had suffered but chalked it up to the fact that it was "To Go". Tonight was the final straw. We will NEVER go back!!! Buyer beware!! We had late reservations and the restaurant was half full. We were shown to our booth which was placed in the back amongst other loud & gregarious patrons. We waited 10 mins for our server and no one ever came. The noise level bothered us, so I went up to the hostesses area to request a table change to quieter area where I had seen quite a few empty tables. All three of the hostesses looked at each other, puzzled, and one of them grabbed something, huffed and said, "can you show me where you are sitting". I walked her back to our table and our server was finally there getting drink orders. The hostess looked around, looked at the server and huffed again. I pointed out the noise level but I didn't want to cause a problem. She ROLLED HER EYES at me and said "I'm not sure if there is a problem". I explained to her that my husband has a hard time hearing with loud ambient noise around and that we wouldn't be able to have a conversation. She paused and didn't say anything. I said forget it, I don't want to be a problem. She never offered to try to move us. I found her to be very condescending and rude. Customer satisfaction is apparently no longer on the menu. Our food was equally awful. The drinks were late coming out, because, per our server "we ran out of glasses". How do you run out of glasses when the restaurant is half full?! The salad was late coming out, "we ran out of salad" we were told. I should have take a picture. The bowl they brought out was 1/3 full, haphazardly thrown together with brown slimy cucumbers. And the bowl of salad was literally tossed onto our table, in front of my daughters plate by a food server. We then had to wait for our dressing by 5 minutes. WTH?! Our server seemed oblivious to anything and everything and we had to request refills for each little thing. There was no chatter, niceties, nothing. The server at the gregarious table, was just as loud and gregarious as her patrons, so frustrating as it added to the already unbelievable noise level. Our steaks came out not cooked appropriately and barely warm. The beans, looked like they had been sitting in the pot for 3 days. This is certainly not the quality of food or service we used to get at Cattleman's a couple of years ago. It has all gone down hill, sad to say. We will be patronizing smaller, locally run restaurants from now on. Thanks for the push Cattleman's! I urge you all to...

If you're searching for a true taste of the American West—hearty portions, exceptional service, and a rustic, cowboy-style atmosphere—look no further than Cattlemen’s Restaurant. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted with warm hospitality and the nostalgic charm of a bygone era, where steaks are king and quality is the law of the land.

Ambience: The décor hits the mark with its old-school western theme. Dark wood, vintage photographs, branding irons, and ranch-style accents set the stage for an authentic experience. The lighting is just right—cozy and welcoming without being dim. You half expect to see a trail boss at the next table, sipping whiskey after a long cattle drive.

Service: Top-notch across the board. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive without being overbearing. They knew the menu like the back of their hand and made excellent recommendations, even going out of their way to ensure dietary preferences were accommodated. The staff exudes pride in the restaurant’s heritage and quality.

Food: Absolutely phenomenal. The steaks are the star here—aged to perfection, seared with just the right char, and bursting with bold, beefy flavor. I ordered the Cowboy Cut Ribeye, and it was tender, juicy, and cooked exactly to order. Each bite melted in my mouth. My dining partner had the New York Strip, and it was equally impressive. Sides like the baked potato (fully loaded), seasoned green beans, and Cattlemen’s signature salad with their famous house dressing were all outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Even the bread and beans served at the start were delicious and set the tone for the meal.

Drinks & Dessert: The bar is well-stocked, offering everything from classic bourbon to smooth local wines. I tried their Old Fashioned, and it was one of the best I’ve had—balanced and robust. For dessert, the warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream was the perfect finish—comforting and indulgent without being overly sweet.

Value: For the quality and quantity of food, Cattlemen’s offers excellent value. You leave full, satisfied, and already planning your next visit. It's not just a meal; it’s an experience—one that respects tradition and delivers on every front.

Final Verdict: Cattlemen’s Restaurant is a gem—ideal for date nights, family dinners, or just a plac e to enjoy an exceptional steak in a setting that feels like a step back in time. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a must-visit destination. Saddle up and head over—you won’t be...

We made a reservation in advance b/c we were going on a Sunday @7:30pm & we had a party of 5. We were celebrating a birthday & some of the people in our party came to this exact location last year around the same day & time & had an amazing time even though it was busy. Oddly enough, this year, it wasn't busy at all--lots of open tables, yet our waiter was not great & really slow. In addition, 1 of the 4 steaks was all fat, so we complained & it was remade. If that wasn't bad enough, 1 of the 5 people only eats chicken & ordered the house salad with grilled chicken, but since it's not on the menu, the waiter had to ask a manager if this was possible. It was made & she was totally unhappy; the salad wasn't even good, but, then again, this is a steak place, so she wasn't expecting anything great. Nonetheless, since the salad is the house salad that is served to everyone that orders a meal, she thought it would be at least decent--it wasn't. 2 people ordered desert to go, so we knew that we had to wait for that, but after they were delivered, we thought that the check would come shortly after--nope! Then we had an issue with the check & I had to find our waiter to try to fix it. That was a nightmare, but after 20 minutes, it was fixed, but then we had to wait for him to come get it again. Overall, we waited 30 minutes after we got the 1st check before we were able to leave. However, the deserts that were taken home were very yummy, so we recommend the chocolate cake & brownie sundae. After this visit, the people in our party that came last year are totally willing to try to eat dinner here again, but the other people are hesitant. So, maybe you'll have great food & a great experience or you...
