I'm giving this a one star just because the escape room itself was fun and enjoyable. The staff assisting us with the escape room was also very friendly and helpful. The receptionist had a very nasty attitude, was disrespectful, lack customer service and ultimately made the check-in process a horrible experience. We booked a reservation and the system charged us for a child ticket. The receptionist even confirm that the system does this so that there's at least a ticket to be purchased. However, there were only two adults in the reservation and we never authorized the company or any other website system to charges for a child ticket. To our surprise despite being there, not canceling our reservation, they refuse to refund us for their error. Luckily, our card company was able to process the charge back. After speaking to the card company, the reception it was rude to us, ignored us and prolonged our check-in process further. Nonetheless, given the customer service from the receptionist, we will never become back to this place. We don't recommend this place for those who don't want to be treated disrespectfully, and their unorthodox refund policies. They want to take your money and not give you the customer service you deserve. For my sake of my and for yours, don't go to this place if you don't want to experience rude customer service and people taking your money or charging your card without your permission. Update: The manager responded to this review and he was very friendly and easy to work with. He apologized for the experience and the lack of assistance received on this particular day. He was able to resolve the issue. Thank you so much.

What a great experience! I have been to various escape rooms and this is by far one of the betters ones. The facility itself was extremely well-kept. Nice and clean, although there was some pretzel bits in the fooseball table but I will ignore that, (-_^). Speaking of, there is a large room right behind the cashier if you have any events going on, maybe a company outing, or a birthday, or just a night out with a bunch of your friends. There are several options that you can do in conjunction with your group size. They have a bunch of great options, we were a group of 8 and so we did Taken. Jared was a great Game Master and explained the rules very well. Taken itself was a great challenge, with only a 13% success rate, we were one of the 13%....not bragging at all. (Rolls eyes) Haha. If you and your friends are looking for a good challenge, I'd recommend doing this one. We are definitely already planning to come back to do "The Gift" which from what we, was more technology based, thats all I can say because a man doesn't kiss and tell. All-in-all, great time! They have some cool merch too.

Soo. Much. Fun. My wife and I decided to stop by with my nephew for some escape room fun. Red Door is a quick 10 minute trip from where we're staying, so why not? We were paired with another family with a younger kiddo and we worked together flawlessly. The Prison Break room was a blast and well thought out. Without giving much away, the room was clean, well maintained, and the clues and challenges were hard, but not too difficult. Our 'Game Master', Sandy, was super fun and seemed like she really loved her job. When we escaped with 44 seconds left, my wife ran out screaming her face off and Sandy was right there screaming with her and answered a few questions we had afterward. I would absolutely go back and do more rooms with them! I highly recommend visiting Red Door Escape Room when in the Folsom area.

Just done a room here! We’re not from here but stopped here on our way to our destination. Glad we stopped here because staff is awesome and production quality of the roon is very good. We did “The Gift” and we all liked the game very much. The puzzles were interesting but I really liked the set. We were 1 puzzle away for escaping. The door stayed locked but our mind didn’t :). My brain hurts but it’s a pretty good activity’s to do with friends or family.

Pretty funny though we did a dance for a extra 1 minute after our time ran out. Hopefully are flossing moves weren’t so cringy lol

We did pretty good at the beginning but there were puzzles that we got stuck on and loss a large amounts of time.

Liam was our game master. He was a very good game master and funny also. Really made our experience more enjoyable even though we didn’t escape. Good at giving hints that don’t tell you exactly how to solve it, but guide you in the correct direction.

The lady (edit: It’s Ashley, didn’t catch her name when we were there)at the front desk was also very friendly and cool. Our family talked to her and Liam and overall really cool people and costumer service.

Might come back for JailBreak or idk Highly recommend! :)

— edit 7/1

Today we did Taken and Confinement. Game masters: Liam (Taken) — had him for a previous room we did. Very helpful and made us feel excited and very welcomed. Very good enthusiasm. Sends positive vibes :) (Also, everything I wrote above David (Confinement) - Such a joyful guy, he spreads positive vibes. Made us excited for the room, and made me feel less dumb since we didn’t escape :) .

Taken: Taken isn’t a very difficult room puzzle wise. Taken is started off in 2 different rooms and you communicate using a vent. Each room has locks, and you have to collaborate to get clues to unlock them. That was one of Thebes hardest part of the room, collaborating when we were separated. My parents were in 1 room, and my brother and I were in the other. Highly recommend doing this room with people your close to, so you have a easy time understanding each other. We didn’t escape but had 2 puzzles left. This room has a lot of really unique puzzles, that I had never seen before.

Confinement: Confinement is really difficult in my opinion. Even harder than Taken I think. The room is really large, but the puzzles are pretty much linear. Our game master was David, he’s very friendly and nice. About the room, the room is considered is pretty suspenseful, but it’s not spooky. We asked them to changed some features so it wouldn’t be so suspenseful. Appreciate it, that they were so accommodating. The set is very well done for the first and second rooms, but the 3rd I felt was kinda of lower quality than the rest of the set. We failed really bad, and didn’t escape. I felt that this room had too many puzzles for the 60 minute limit...

Update: The GM called and emailed offering for us to return at a fairly reduced price It was a fair offer and we accepted. Good customer service in making it right. Thank you Arianna.

Were checked in 10 minutes late. Check in person was friendly. Played Prison Break and Scarlett was our host. We were stuck and asked for a clue, but it did not come through for over 4 minutes, after having to press the clue button again. We dropped the magnet in the locked cell and could not retrieve it, but Scarlett saw this and came in to help right away.

At that point, we told her it took over 4 minutes and two requests to get our clue, and since we were stuck, we felt it unfairly cost us time. She proceeded to tell us that they were extremely understaffed and thats why they couldn't give us our clue quickly. Something about the tab on her screen of the software they use and how the time looks paused, but its not or something. I honestly didnt have a clue what she was talking about or why her game software was my issue. I asked her if we could get the 4 minutes back. She ignored the question and kept trying to explain her control room software.

By this time, two more minutes had gone by as she is standing in the room saying something about tabs on her screen. I asked again about this lost time as well, she ignored me and just ran out of the room saying they were understaffed.

We have been here before and had a great experience, but today was not good. I felt we were ripped off of over 6 minutes, and we surely would have escaped if we had that time back . Understaffing should not affect my pre-paid experience. Game times are reserved so its not like an unexpected rush can occur.

The person who greeted us at the end of the game was friendly and showed us that we only had one more puzzle to solve. He agreed that we likely would have solved it if we had the 6 minutes back. He said we should consider it a win.

Overall, i am very unhappy with the experience today. Not the room itself, but with how our experience was cut short and the service from scarlett.

I sent this message to the location directly through their "contact us" on the website. Have...

Edit: Adding stars back because the general reached out and genuinely worked hard to rectify our experience. Based on this customer service I would definitely give this Escape Room another try in the future. Thank you Kevin!

We mostly had a fun time here up until the end, where the customer service really lacked. We reserved the latest time slot, and after our game we felt like we were rushed out of the building. This led to my friend forgetting she had one of the clues in her pocket. We get a frantic call about 20 minutes later from the same girl who rushed us out, in a panicky voice asking if we took anything. My friend found one of the prop keys in her pocket and before I even finished confirming, the girl is rapid speech telling us they don't have a spare prop and "really really really" need it back ASAP, but then proceeds to tell us that they'll only be there for another 20 minutes and wouldnt wait longer. Her tone was rude and her hesitancy to wait didn't match her verbal rapid-fire about how badly we needed to bring it back right away. We weren't sure if we could make it back in 20 minutes and asked about having someone wait or just bringing it back in the morning as an other option, only for this girl to keep saying how badly they needed it back. I had to cut her off and tell her that we are all obviously trying to find a solution, so that she could slow down and be helpful. In the end we were able to get them back the same night. This place hires a lot of young adults and most were great but I can definitely give feedback that this employee needs coaching on her customer service skills. Additionally, at the end of our game, we let her know that there was an actual roach (not one of their prop ones) running around in the Prison Break room and she was unbothered by this, and I'm not confident that she shared this information with management.

Based on this experience, I would not return. The room was fun, but it is not an inexpensive experience, and I definitely expected a higher level of...
