We went here because we were craving AYCE sushi. We went in and put our number down and waited 20mins for being number 9 on the waitlist. That wasn’t too bad at all. We sat down, looked at the menu and didn’t see any prices. We also received a to-go menu that had the prices so we went based off those prices. We did a sushi platter which was 4 rolls for $45 which was a really good price. We proceeded to order lion king, climax, Mr.krabs and dragon roll. They gave us little free appetizers to wait which was miso soup and edamame. They were both extremely salty. We did not enjoy it at all. We tried to take off the salt on top of the edamame to eat the edamame. We wait about 25mins for our first three sushi rolls. We had to wait 40mins for the lion king roll which was very ridiculous. Our server kept telling us it was about to be done or it was cooking but it wasn’t. By the time we received the roll, it was warm, mind you this is a cooked sushi roll. It felt like it was sitting in the warmer for awhile which was disappointing. They had about 5/6 sushi chefs making sushi right in front of us which I enjoyed but I don’t think it should’ve took 40mins for one single roll. The best roll I had from them was the Mr.Krabs roll it was creamy and melted in my mouth. I did not enjoy the climax roll, something was off about it and I couldn’t pin point it. The place wasn’t busy, looked like a regular business day. It’s quite loud in the place and I couldn’t really hear our server when he was talking to us so that was frustrating. My boyfriend got the bento box which I would say is one of the biggest bento boxes we’ve ever seen. He did the two entree one and he got steak terriyaki and chicken katsu. To me, the steak felt boiled and then they tried to grill it. The chicken katsu, was crunchy, moist and flavorful. They did that one right. We loved the salad it came with. I’m not sure if I’d recommend this place to anyone.

Read moreGreat place. The first ayce sushi restaurant that I've ever been to that includes sashimi in the ayce price. Unheard of, but awesome. The fish was fresh, cold, and good. The wait was a little long on a couple orders and we got rushed on our first order so that's the only reason I took off a star on service (I'd give a 4.5 if possible). The plastic partitions on the booths were filmy white, and had smear marks all over them and the dryer in the bathroom was directly above the outlet which just seemed like a recipe for disaster (only reason why I deduct a star on atmosphere). The food, overall, was great. Generous portions of softshell crab deep fried, and baby octopus deep fried. Great selection, great rolls. I'm a hand roll guy and was a little thrown off by the fact that they didn't even have a rainbow hand roll on the menu, the spicy scallop hand roll was only made "spicy" by the bread crumb mix on top of it so not really "spicy" but decent. The salmon skin hand roll was a little on the chewy side so I quickly learned that hand rolls were not the specialty here, hence the 4 out of 5 stars for food. All in all though everything was very good-reasonably priced, fresh, creative long rolls, ayce sashimi. We want to go back with a new strategy- get all their great apps, a salmon and hamachi kama (which is on the menu), and then just go for broke on the wide variety of fine sashimi (including walu). Blue fin, sea urchin, salmon belly, etc. are available for a minor upcharge. Great place, highly recommend, coming from a family who eats ayce sushi on a regular basis in Reno, NV. Oh, one other thing- they refer to orders of nigiri/sashimi as "pieces" literally 1 piece, as opposed to orders (which in Reno, NV. 2 pieces means 1 order). No big deal though, you just have to order...
Read moreWe came to Samurai Sushi, which is still listed as open on the map. We visited last year and really enjoyed it, but to our surprise, it has now become Narumi Sushi. We were hungry and didn’t feel like looking for another place — especially since it looked exactly the same.
We were seated and given menus. We made our choices and were ready to order, but the server started explaining that they have two different menus. My husband ordered from one, I ordered from the other, and I didn’t understand why they couldn’t just accept both.
In the end, I changed my order to some rolls I didn’t even want. I still don’t understand why our server, Leo, didn’t clearly explain from the beginning that they’re pushing an all-you-can-eat menu for $34. I only wanted two rolls.
The service was also extremely slow — we waited way too long for everything, from placing the order to getting our food.
We ordered a few different items, and we were very disappointed with the food. The Rainbow Roll was okay — probably just because I was so hungry and it was the first thing I ate. The rest was not good, and my husband refused to eat any more.
At the end, we were told that if we didn’t finish everything, we would be charged extra. If you’re going to operate as an all-you-can-eat restaurant, there are other places you could learn from. I actually like those kinds of restaurants and have never left one hungry or upset — until now.
Worst service, tasteless food, and slow to top it off. You’re taking advantage of Samurai Sushi’s reputation, but you...
