THE BAD: Morgan Parsons the floor manager = RUINED BIRTHDAY
THE GOOD: Ambiance, Beer, Food, Seating options, Outdoor area.
My wife and I with another couple visited last night for the first time as it was part of my Birthday celebration. (All of us early 40’s) We had heard good things about this place overall and decided to check it out.
The place was packed and there was a wait for dinner and a table, it was expected since it is a newer establishment. (understandable) We opted to sit outside immediately and relax in the Adirondack chairs by the fire-pit/cornhole area. (I genuinely enjoy relaxed/comfortable seating.) it was a little confusing wether they would come around and take our orders or if we had to do it ourselves at the bar. We finally went to the bar after 15min of waiting for someone to take our order. They have a great variety of craft beers, I am a dark beer drinker and the Graham Slam Graham Cracker Nitro Stout was excellent. (the only dark beer choice) after the first round we ordered some appetizer. The Hangry chicken wings Bloody Mary style were some of the best wings I’ve ever had. Giant pretzel is huge and delicious, and smoked Mac n cheese was pretty good too. 2nd round we all shared the beer flight. Pretty interesting flavors of beers everyone seemed to enjoy.
Now the bad part... all 4 of us were just sitting down at the fire pit when this lady (employee) comes up to us and immediately singles out and accused our friend of allegedly having too many drinks, glassy eyes and he should not finish the “3rd” beer of the night. Morgan Parsons is her name (found out later) and she said she saw him 30min earlier stumbling when he was walking to the bathroom. FIRST OFF, Why didn’t she say something at the time she ALLEGEDLY saw this behavior? We were all in shock and initially thought she was joking because no one in the group in ANY way was stumbling or acting poorly. After about 2 minutes of us trying to figure out what she was talking about she left. My wife immediately went to our server and starting inquiring as to who this lady was and why she was singling one of our group out. The server was very apologetic and said if he thought in any way we were too tipsy he would have stopped serving us himself. He stated that in no way were we at that point. The server sent the (AGM) assistant general manager over to our table 10min later, which was very much appreciated, but at this point our evening and MY BIRTHDAY outing was COMPLETELY RUINED by Morgan. I wish I could remember the AGM’s name I will look for her card she gave us and add later. The AGM was VERY apologetic. She observed us as she was speaking and listened to what we had to say. Apparently she already knew there was an injustice done from the server explaining the situation prior to her coming over. She said she doesn’t understand why Morgan singled anyone of our group out and to BOOT offered us a round on the house because of the incident. (would she do that if we had too many?? NOOO!) we did not take her up on her offer as our evening was TOTALLY RUINED and all we wanted to do was get out of the place as fast as possible. She even gave our friend a gift certificate to apologize for Morgans behavior. Does that make up for RUINING MY BIRTHDAY? Nope, but it was appreciated that she tried, and sided with us and gave my friend the gift certificate. He stated he will not return and didn’t want it but thanked her. She left it with us anyways and we immediately left feeling like reprimanded children or criminals of some sort. The establishment is very nice and welcoming had it not been for this person. We would have LOVED to come back soon and play some outdoor games and order dinner. But thanks to Morgan Parsons I don’t believe we’ll get that chance. What a way to RUIN A BIRTHDAY celebration Morgan! You need more training as a floor manager, maybe some...
Read moreSCROLL FOR UPDATE! We love this place overall. The atmosphere was a great and the food is usually exceptional. However the other night, service wasn’t great and the food was underwhelming. We will return because historically things have been great. It’s expensive now to eat out so I have high expectations and they missed the mark.
UPDATE: my family and I went there tonight (4/29/25) and we are frequent flyers here in the spring and summer. Gosh…. I do not think we will return!! They no longer have servers so you have to wait in line to order food and drinks at the bar… no big deal because we were there around 430…. Upon ordering we were asked if we wanted to leave our tab open. We said WHY NOT. Big mistake. We could not locate a restaurant worker and when I did, she didn’t know how I could close out my tab so I asked if I had to wait in line again (which at this point was long). So, I waited in line. Annoying, even more so because we had our kiddos who were ready to go. I would have just closed my tab upon my initial order. Now to the food…. We ordered quite a bit. Our usuals, brussel sprouts, pretzel, nachos, and some fries. The nachos are half the size and not as ‘loaded’ as they used to be. Still filling so that’s good but disappointed that the size is half now and topping seemed skimpy comparatively. Brussel sprouts were great! So that’s made us happy. There weren’t any water containers so we ended up grabbing a cup from the bar to fill with water at the fountain machine. Not an issue buy just so thrown off by the way this place is currently being ran. Not sure why they did away with wait staff. Maybe they were losing money but this current situation is not working. Hoping they figure it out. Even if we will not be back, hopefully for the future of this place they can fine tune things and iron out the many kinks. So so...
Read moreThe atmosphere is neat and the beer is good. However, no matter how nice the atmosphere is and good the beer is, when I notice that food safety is not taken seriously, I'm out. During a recent visit, we noticed kitchen staff members eating in the kitchen and going immediately back to cooking food without washing their hands. Eating in the kitchen where food is being prepared is never acceptable. Also, there was zero consistency when it came to wearing gloves. I witnessed a couple cooks who would sometimes where gloves and sometimes not. Sometimes they would have gloves on when spreading ingredients (salt, etc) and sometimes not. The young man that was at the food prep station putting fries on peoples plates never wore gloves. My assumption is the gloves are part of COVID-19 safety which tells you how serious they are about keeping you safe. Certainly, it is my choice to go out and about in this time which I do with full understanding of the current situation. But, it is on the restaurant or business to uphold whatever the specific food safety requirements are. The scariest part is that they were doing this when customers can see right into the kitchen. If they are that blase about it when people can see "behind the curtain", I'd hate to know what transpires in areas of the kitchen that can't be seen or when they brew their beer. Even more to the point, where was the manager making sure everything, in all areas was running the way it should. Managers used to check in with customers, and handle all aspects of the operation on their shift...bar, kitchen, service, to ensure standards were upheld and customers were being...
