Joe's Fox Hut — Restaurant in Fond du Lac

This was our first visit to Joe's Fox Hut but we will definitely return the next time we're in Fond du Lac. It's kind of a weird system to get a table; you have to talk to someone in the kitchen (all the tables were marked "reserved"). Since it was just two of us (this was on a Friday night) the lady in the kitchen said we could eat at the bar and they would take our order there. (Apparently folks are supposed to use a phone in the kitchen to place an order if they will be sitting at a table.) The drinks were great - I am a connoisseur of old fashioneds, and theirs were perfect. Despite the place being packed we didn't have to wait long for our pizza and garlic bread, which were outstanding (thin crust which is our favorite). Somehow when it came time to pay our tab, we were only charged $9.00 for 3 old fashioneds and a Schlitz on tap. We questioned the bartender about this but she said it was correct. A large (14") pizza with 3 toppings was only $17.00 and worth every cent. Both bartenders were very friendly and efficient. I highly...

I'm puzzled by the apparent overt popularity of The hut. It's a bar. With a beer sign from the 1960s. So if that's what you want then it's just the place. But ppl mention their pizza and food... imo it's a bar and not a restaurant. There are bars which serve food, and there are restaurants which serve alcoholic beverages. I don't go to Buffalo wild wings at all because that's a frat house place, I passed my frathouse era decades ago. So I suppose that those people who like bww will like Joe's too.

We frequently order delivery from this restaurant, the food is always really good. The reason that we ranked them so low is due to the service we receive over the phone as it has been very low quality. After placing the most recent order, I asked if we could pay by card and the response was that she needed to get the total first in an unpolite tone. She then set the phone and was complaining to staff about me in a loud, unpleasant matter which we could hear. At no point in our conversation on the phone was I rude or impolite, but we will be trying new establishments moving forward...
