We haven't been here in over a year because of very poor service and poor management reaction to complaints, so we decided to give it another try. We had 5 people and were greeted promptly. Our server was Callie (possibly different spelling) and she was great. Accidentally spilt a soda and was very apologetic. Food arrived in a timely manner (rib-eye, talapia, cheeseburger, taco salad, and turkey dinner) though the place was dead. The burger was alright, and the rest was well below average. The taco salad meat was not drained; you could see the fat oozing through the shell and pooling on the plate. The steak was ordered well done, and was over cooked and very charred. The talapia was very pink meaning undercooked. Finally was my turkey dinner. The turkey was covered in gravy and the turkey was dry and overcooked. The potatoes were very dry, and the stuffing was just ok - nothing impressive. The green beans must have been new and old; you could tell by the color. The highlight of my dish was the gravy and the salad beforehand. We let our polite server about this, and she asked if she could get us something else, but we declined. A couple minutes later, an owner (who is a lady) came up to our booth and stated in a very rude voice "So what's the problem here?" We explained what was wrong and before we could finish, she literally began arguing and cutting us off. She was explaining the taco meat was that way because of the tomato juice, but it was clearly fat that wasn't drained from the meat. She than began to tell us that she just had a talapia and it looked like ours and it is supposed to be different colors. We pointed out that ours was pink and showed her, and she kept arguing that it will be pink, although anyone knows fish should not be pink. Anything we tried telling her was immediately cut off in a very rude tone and walked away. Last I knew the customer is ALWAYS right and you NEVER argue. You listen to the customer and apologize and offer a discount.
We went up to pay and she said she would give us half off of the taco salad and talapia, and she only took half off one dish. We payed and left.
I did make a remark when I walked out the door that I will NOT be coming back again, not even if I get a free meal. I also stated that we should have went to Faro's, which is where we always go.
Also when we payed, the owner advised us that if we were to come back, we should just order something different because they will not make the food different.
To end, it looks like we did quit going to Rolling Meadows Restaurant for the correct reason, but maybe after a year something changed, but I would say that the management and food has gotten worse. The only aspect I was impressed with was the server Callie. I can safely say that we will no longer be going back every again. Even if they were to offer a free meal, I still will not go back. But honestly, what good business owner starts an argument with a group of customers in front of others and then proceeds to tell you what to...
Read moreHands down the rudest waitress I've ever come across, and the food was nothing to brag about. When we got there I asked to sit at a bright sunny spot as my mom has vision issues, yet they brought us to a dark spot then I had to ask if we could sit at the table that had a cool light. (some tables had yellow light, random ones had the real white light). Our salads were brown and slimy with a single crouton on top. Tomatoes were not fresh, we only ate the crouton. She didn't come back even once to ask for refills on our water/drink or ask how the salads were. Then we get our food, I had a bacon chicken melt. One of my pieces of bacon was cooked, the other was nearly raw, the underside of my bread was mushy. I told her I'm not paying for this meal and to see the manager. The other plate was a chicken quesedea. The menu said smothered in 2 cheeses however her plate was dry dry chicken, hardly any cheese and no cheese on top. They did remake it however even after all these complaints there was not a single apology and walked away annoyed. I see Emily, our waitress, and the manager as well as 5 other workers listening to our complaints. Respectfully, it should've been us, the waitress and the manager come to our table. After she gave us the bill, I asked see the manager but she said he just left. 🙄how convenient. Emily said that he didn't charge us for anything accept the drink, which was great, however her attitude towards us and lack of apologies was jaw dropping! I even mention how unattentive she was and all she said was, "well, I'm sorry you ate the food and weren't happy with it" while she was walking away. What a turn off! I've never come across a restaurant with such bad service and food. The crouton and Arnold palmer was good though. I don't...
Read moreIF YOU ARE HANDICAPPED- check out the Restrooms FIRST! I wish we had because we would of gone some place else!!! Handicapped people like to go out to eat also. But it is Most important that the Restrooms can accommodate us.
Handicapped Stall needs to be Wide enough to fit a Wheel chair through. And Wide enough to close the door for Privacy. It needs have a Handicapped size toilet. It needs to have Grab Bars. The Soap and Sink have to be reachable. And for heavens sake, don’t wash the floor with a sloppier soap film left behind!
I spoke with the Female Manager about the restroom issues. Her comment was this! “ The men’s Bathroom is much bigger. I could of used that instead. And she would take my concerns into consideration.” 🤬🤬😡😡. Totally uncalled for!!!!! I am 67 year old woman! My legs do NOT work. I use an Electric Power Wheelchair. It is dii I fgicult enough being handicapped. I have learned to accept it, work around it. Being handicapped, like so many others-we like to get out & enjoy ourselves, being as “ normal as possible.” And out with Dignity!!
How dare the female manager recommend that next time, use the men’s room!!! I suggested that for now on, when a handicapped customer comes in that they Need to use the Men’s Room! Honestly, if I had known that was the situation, I would of gone someplace else!!! And I think any Female Handicapped Customer would of done the same! She said, she would take my comments into consideration! Talk about feeling insulted and degraded!!
The Waitress Staff was amazing. The food was good but pricey.
However, we will not be going back! And I will make other handicapped people aware of the place and female...
