BED BUG BED BUGS PLEASE READ BEFORE COMING HERE....I normally don't write reviews you can check my profile for proof of that.. cause i believe if a company does what it's suppose to do to make it right then why let the world know... so I'm here cause I believe the way it's being handle is sad.. my wife and me stayed on dec 13th to the 14th ( due to a company christmas party, we are from out of state ) we also had reservations for the 15th to the 16th but i used my ihg point for those days and paid for the 13th through the 14th.. we got in at 2am in the morning.. we went to bed on my way to work my wife calls me and tells me they got bed bugs.. so i turned around to go get the situation handled.. as i was driving back to the hotel to pick my wife up they told her, they would add that room to the list of rooms at need to be treated.. ( so the way I'm taking that is they knew they had bed bugs and continue to give out rooms anyways instead of getting the situation handled before giving rooms to people ).. once I got there they told me they would only refund my points, not my money ) due to the fact that we stayed that night ( which remind you it was 2am in the morning when we got there. So we were tired and just went to bed ) the bed bugs were found at 10:30am that morning.. we asked them to wash our clothes cause any professional bug killing place will tell you if you handling bed bugs to throw ur clothes in a commercial dryer and turn the heat on high aka basically a hotel dyer or laundry mat. They only did half our clothes and told us they won't do the other half.. so i had to spend my own money to clean the rest of my clothes at a laundry mat.. we also had to throw out our luggage due to bed bugs.. so we had to go buy new luggage so I'm out the price of the room plus 200 for new luggage... so if you want the same issues your more then welcome to stay here.. called corporate they told me it's up to the management of the hotel to decide how to refund me on the situation.. so basically I'm only getting my points back on my IHG app is what the management of this hotel told me.. out 300 dollars but hey I...
Read moreWhile seemingly the holiday inn express in fond du lac is definitely the nicest choice in the area our experience came with an incredibly mixed bag of experiences. The front desk staff upon check in was absolutely phenomenal- kind and put together. The first bummer was when we got to our room and pulled back our sheets and saw that there was still a WET coffee spill in the bed and what we could only have hoped was chocolate smeared in the bed. The other bed in the room wasn't much better. Unfortunately for the girl who signed her name to the card for cleaning the room- since she certainly missed a critical piece of cleaning. When we went to the front desk a new person was there- we got zero apology and that they would change the sheets- we requested a new room (we have 2 tiny children and didn't want to tote them to the lobby just so sheets could be changed). The gal at the front gave us a new room and while the beds were clean that room was much less clean than our first room with dirty sheets. The pool was absolutely freezing which was a bummer but not a major deal breaker. Our daughter unfortunately got sick in the middle of the night and when we approached someone at the front desk they didn't offer clean sheets or anything. Just to put the stuff in a trash bag outside of the door. Good thing someone left the housekeeping closet unlocked so we could GET OUR OWN SHEETS! The employee never returned to remove the bag of items from outside our door. Breakfast was pretty decent the next day and the coffee was hot and fresh. Overall I wouldn't recommend it and honestly feel we should have been comped our room since it was an unacceptable level of dirty. There are worse places to stay for sure... Maybe just bring...
Read moreOk for a stay. The room was a typically room. The TV was not working and had a couple of problems. One it was not plugged in to an outlet. Once I plugged it in to an outlet the TV signaled it didn’t have an input. I spent a half hour trying to troubleshoot the remote with the various inputs. When I went to the desk they told me it was a common problem with the system and how to fix it. I wasn’t the only one who had problems with the TV as I saw other guests at the desk asking about it during my stay. There were no instructions in the room for the special steps needed to work it nor given on check in. It would save time and guest frustration if they did either. Breakfast had the usual fare you would expect at the Holiday Inn Express but I was there on a weekday and while technically they had everything they had small amounts and the stuff looked and tasted like it had been there a few days. After a few bites I ended up throwing my breakfast away and got breakfast elsewhere. I usually like staying at Holiday Inn Express and I am a member but not sure I...
