So we decided to give this place one more chance and, much like the first and second visits, it failed us for the last time - YOU'RE OUT! We will NOT be returning. This is not authentic; unless "authentic" means mediocre, flavorless, mass produced, second-class. The glass of water was good though.
The Food: Flautas plate - the chicken wasn't seasoned; not much of flavor. Chiles Rellenos weren't seasoned; taste was just bland Rice & Beans - were very reminiscent of mass produced, canned refried beans. The rice was that second class, cheap broken rice. Salsa & Chips - you're given salsa & chips, however, the chips are too greasy and the salsa has zero flavor. We asked for something spicier and was given chipotle sauce (not a salsa) Evidently quality is not at the forefront nor is flavoring. The food was lack-luster; mediocre at best.
Location: The restaurant is located in a shopping center with ample parking and well lit; clearly visible. The facade of the restaurant is nice and Mexican-modern. You're greeted by beautifully ornate, wrought iron doors and walk into a beautifully decorated restaurant... EXCEPT, that there is a HUGE menu display hanging in the front of the house. This monstrosity hijacks your eye from the smart, beautiful decor to the fast-food menu display hanging in front of you. The hanging menu alludes to an identity struggle for the restaurant; is it fast-food, striving for high-end or combination of indecision!?! Either way, it brings the expensive decore/ambiance down and makes it look/feel "chunty" (lower class).
Alcohol: The margaritas are - meh. Since you could barely taste the alcohol in the margaritas, they were sent back. The second batch had the same issue. A bartender offered to 'remake the margaritas by hand' and they were made properly the THIRD TIME. Which brings up another point...why weren't they made 'by hand' the first time; again, alluding to the fact that 'quality' isn't the running theme.
Service: Seating was quick and friendly. No issues with the staff on either of the three occasions. At the time of paying the bill we noticed that the receipt recommended the typical 15% gratuity and, something I didn't expect, 12% gratuity recommendation. Is the customer to assume that the general manager or owner is again willing to settle, this time on a 12% tip?
We weighed this place on three separate occasions and have found it wanting. We're used to real, authentic cuisine and this place is not it. Still, if this place speaks to you, then please,...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at PV's Fresh Grill and Tequila in Fontana, CA during lunchtime, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a friendly staff that made me feel welcome and comfortable. The cleanliness of the place was also immediately apparent, which further added to the positive first impression.
When it came to the food, I decided to try the chicken mole, and I'm so glad I did. The dish was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the mole sauce was rich and complex, with just the right amount of spice. It was evident that the chef took great care in preparing this traditional Mexican dish, and it truly paid off. The portion size was generous as well, leaving me completely satisfied.
In addition to the main course, I also indulged in the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were freshly made and crispy, and the salsa had a vibrant blend of flavors that complemented them perfectly. It was a great way to start the meal and whet my appetite for the main dish.
Throughout my time at PV's Fresh Grill and Tequila, the staff remained attentive and friendly, ensuring that I had everything I needed for a pleasant dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to answer any questions I had. The service was prompt and efficient, yet never rushed, allowing me to enjoy my meal at a comfortable pace.
Overall, PV's Fresh Grill and Tequila is a fantastic restaurant for a satisfying lunch, I recommend giving PV's Fresh Grill and...
Read moreThe last 3 orders have been wrong, and if you call And ask for the manager, you get one of the owners, Steve, who is beyond rude,! This last order, I asked for beef flautas, but got chicken flautas with beef on both ends, giving the appearance of being beef. I don’t know if they are just trying to use what they have or what, but they do not care if their customers orders are right! The food is excellent, so we have given them several chances, but will go to the San Bernardino location from now on. This location has gone down the tubes I, do NOT recomnend it at all! Used to be our favorite place, but if I am going to spend this much money, I will not come here again ever! I have been hung up on by “Steve” twice, he does not care if you have a complaint. I hope they consistently lose customers and money, and the other owners need to know Steve is costing them business. So sad, bc the food is very good, but this...
