Copper Penny Grill — Restaurant in Forest City

We wanted to like this place. We stopped in from out town while visiting family. We had 8 people and was told that it would be 10-15 mins. So we sat at the bar and had drinks. Waited over 30 for a table. Ok fine no big deal, we’re a large party and though it was busy (yet), we had no complaints. Get seated at the table and order almost right away. Almost an hour later, we were still waiting for our food. The server never same to update us or let us know what the hold up was. When we did ask how much longer, she said “idk but they are cooking it”. So we wait more. At this point, we’re all aggravated so I ask a bus boy to please check on our food. He comes back and lets me know that the food was coming up. Food starts coming out, barely warm. Not even half the food comes out. So I ask for a manager. When she comes to the table I tell her what’s going on and her immediate response was “well I can’t take it off your bill”. Baby girl, that is NOT the reason I wanted your help. I have no problem paying for food here or any other restaurant. I would have liked for her to see what the hold up was or even give us an explanation. No apology or anything. Then, a snotty teen comes out essentially tossing out food trays. I had to leave at this point due to her attitude. While I was gone, the rest of the food comes out. Luke warm, hard bread, and some of the order was incorrect. Apparently the manager decided to give us a discount for the food.

All to say, extremely disappointed in this place, the customer service if you want to call it that, and the snooty teen who is...

My family and I stopped here on the way home from the mountains to give this place another try. We had eaten at one of their other locations and had issues the time prior to this visit. When we got there we were seated pretty quickly, and thought this might be a good sign. Our order was taken and drinks were brought along with our appetizer in a reasonable amount of time. That is were it all ended well. We sat there waiting patiently for our meals, while our 19 month old became more and more agitated. We noticed it was now nearing almost an hour and we still hadn't received our food, and similar size parties to larger parties around us were receiving their meals who had ordered after us or around the same time. We watched them eat and leave and still nothing. So we finally received our food and even our server made the comment about how long it took. Not sure if this place has a flawed system in the way they put their orders in or what, but this was the second time in a row that this has happened. If I am going to spend over $100 to eat somewhere, I expect the process to be smoother than what I have recieved the past two times here. Probably won't...

Been going to CP for years but it is seriously sliding down a rabbit hole. The simplest of bar room dishes remind me of when my young kids tried to make my wife and i dinner. On 4-9-24 i was starving and promised my wife on this trip I wouldn’t give them “another shot” but i went and ordered Nachos as a starter and Philly beef as dinner. How can you mess that up? Well Nachos were cold. Chicken was cubed not shredded (and cold) and were probably for a salad, cheese was a cheese spread not shredded cheddar, and the sour cream was more like a cream that was microwaved? The Philly was chopped to oblivion, more cheese wiz and side of asparagus was covered in cheese wiz because it ‘slid off the Sandwich’ according to waitress who asked me “is that ok”? If you as a waitress have to ask? Its not ok…bun was un-toasted, no flavor or onion or garlic and literally was thinking that steak-um sandwiches Made at home are much better.. Get it together guys because i love the staff, the beer and atmosphere but will not eat there unless i read better reviews. Sorry for being harsh but oweners and chef need to get in this asap or end up...
