I had such high expectations of this place. I had been seeing them pop up on my Facebook feed for days and finally talked my husband into making the 45 minute drive to try it out. We walked in and the place was inviting enough. We put our name in and had a short five minute wait. I was thinking we are off to a good start. The waitress came and took our drink order and told us the specials. We put in for an appetizer of bbq cheese fries. She brought our drinks back and we put in our regular order. This all took about 15 minutes. Not bad. 45 minutes later…. No appetizer yet. We see the table next to us get their food. One of the orders was wrong. It was exactly what my husband had ordered, we exchanged glances. The waitress took it back to the kitchen. Our appetizer finally made its way out and the fries were cool to the touch and soggy in the middle. The bbq was also cool to the touch. I informed a man behind the bar and he immediately asked the kitchen to remake them, however before we could get them our main course had made its way to the table. Now mind you I ordered the special whole rack of ribs and prime rib with a side of macaroni and cheese and okra. I cut into the prime rib expecting mouth watering deliciousness but instead was met with cold meat. Now hear me out. I do believe it could have been delicious had it been hot. Who wants cold meat?? I wasn’t eating a sandwich. I informed the waitress and she offered to microwave it, I said please just remove it from the bill and take it back. She did. So that was disappointing. The ribs were mediocre and very salty however they were extremely tender. The macaroni was pretty good I’ll give them that. I didn’t even receive my okra and actually just thought about that as I am writing this review. All in all it was a total disappointment. I don’t know if they were having an off night in the kitchen or what was happening but for the money we spent I definitely expected better food. Oh well you live and you learn. Hope this review saves someone else...

I was VERY disappointed in this place after being excited and waiting for it to open. We don't have a lot of options in Forest City so when I saw that the Hoot Nannie was opening I knew I wanted to take my husband and two daughters there this past Saturday (3/19/2022). My family doesn't like to try new restaurants, so convincing them to eat here took a lot. We waited until like 2:45 before we arrived so the lunch crowd would be pretty much cleared out. I was right it wasn't crowded so I thought we would get seated right away.... NOPE! The hostess was doing the waitress job cause all the waitress were in a corner talking and the owner was "smooshing" a table of people, I assumed he must know them. He saw us several times waiting but never seated us. After 20 min we finally got seated. It took the waitress another 20 min to take our drink order, by the time she came back with our drinks we made it simple. One daughter ordered tenders with Mac n cheese the other daughter, tenders and fries. The husband and I ordered Cuban sandwiches he got fries I got homemade chips. It took 45 min to get food only after I said we were leaving did the food appear. My daughters fries were ice cold the others mac n cheese was floating in a bowl of grease and the tenders were greasy/slimy. The husbands Cuban was luke warm and my chips had like a pound of salt on them....could not eat but one. When I told the waitress she said sorry nothing she could do. The owner was still talking to the table of people he knew. He heard me get loud about the food and not once did he come over to see what he could do. I WILL NOT be back and I have told several friends and family to not go there, I had such...

This was my first (and last) visit to this business. Upon ordering I requested that baked beans be substituted for fries with a burger that I ordered. The server stated that no substitutions were allowed and that their would be an extra charge for baked beans. I pointed out that a side of baked beans and a side of fries cost the same on the menu, but I accepted the fries anyway even though I do not like fries. I was sitting directly beside the kitchen counter and observed that my food sat on the counter for about 5 minutes until a different server brought it to my table. The burger was tough and dry, the fries were saturated in seasoning. NOT A GOOD MEAL! Before I finished a young man asked me "how was everything"? I expressed my dissatisfaction about not being able to substitute a side. He stated that the would talk to the manager, he came back and tried to pass it off as a misunderstanding. I said that I would like to talk to the manager. She avoided me for about 10 minutes but she saw that I was determined to speak with her. She sat at my table and said that SUBSTITUTIONS WERE ALLOWED and that she would advise the server and that she would adjust my bill. I did not get the "managers" name but she stated that she previously had managed "The Lodge at Lake Lure". I went to the cashier to pay, my bill WAS NOT adjusted, I told the cashier what the manager had said, she then went and spoke with the manager, the cashier came back and said that no adjustment would be made, the cashier also charged me for a drink that was not on the bill. I told the cashier that I or my family would never return to this establishment because their was no honesty and...

Absolutely fantastic!!!! We love the Honey Hog so we were extremely excited to try out this new restaurant. So right now the menu is fairly small and similar to the Honey Hog which is not that big a deal. They still have the best fried cheese curds and wings I have ever eaten!! I wish I could remember our waiter’s name because he was awesome! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We started off with the cheese curds which seemed even better than I remembered. Also even more generous with the serving size. I had the teriyaki wings which were gigantic and incredibly flavorful. My mother had the pulled pork sandwich which was very good and even better with the bbq sauce. My father had the cubano sandwich which was also fantastic. The chips and fries were both excellent. I can’t wait to try the new menu items when they become available. We drove an hour and fifteen minutes just to eat here. We arrived at 3 and it was slightly busy. When we left at 4:15 it was packed already. So come early or late (they are opened til 10 pm Wednesday/Thursday and midnight Friday/Saturday). Highly recommend!

Not the best experience here and definitely put a bad taste in my mouth about ever coming back. The MAIN reason we came here was to get wings; and guess what they ran out of? WINGS We put our name on the list at 12:45 - after we stood in line for a good 20 minutes. Then we waited, waited and waited. FINALLY we made it to our seat, where we were able to order and get drinks rather fast. We placed an order for an appetizer, that took almost 30 minute to come out, meanwhile the table who JUST sat down beside us got 2 appetizers before us. So finally after a good long wait we got our appetizer at 2:10, 5 minutes later our meal came out. Maybe I’m wrong - but the appetizer should be out at least 20 min before the food does….. long story short, not impressed at all. Food was mediocre for the extensive wait period, really just not worth it. Waitress checked on us maybe 2 times the entire time we were at the table. Just really disappointed in the customer service…. So 2, almsot 3 hours spent in the restaurant… just not impressed at all.

We walked in around 1:00 today, eager to try the food that I’d been seeing so much about. It was a little full but no line. We were told it would still be a few minutes because of staffing and they had already called in another server, so we sat patiently. I noticed there were only 3 waitresses and they were hustling. All seemed chipper and happy though. Another group left before they could be greeted and I ended up feeling sorry for them. They missed out! The waitress that we were sat with was apparently the waitress that got called in. Alex said she was new but she was so kind and helpful. There was enough to see and look at that my kids didn’t mind the wait. Every item we ordered was delicious. My kids (6 and 8 yo) devoured the wings and my 8 month old happy danced with the fried pickles. The pintos actually had pork in them. The chicken fried chicken was delicious. Absolutely everything was amazing. We can’t wait to come back
