Greene's Cafe — Restaurant in Forest City

Our food was lacking today. We both got omelets today and our cheese was not melted. The omelet itself was only warm not hot. We also had grits and they were not hot. You had to break the crust to stir them. As far as butter that was some kind of spread that never melted and tasted like plastic. The girl that waited on us was great and very friendly. No complaints about service. The atmosphere is never so great. There's a young guy that works there and he speaks very loudly. It's impossible to go there and have a peaceful meal. Today there were 2 older gentlemen in separate booths listening to new clips on their phones and they must have been hard of hearing because everyone could hear their phones. They have a sign that states they are not fast food. If that's the case your food should be hot...

Stopped in to grab lunch an a togo order get home and half of my togo order isn't in the bag so call up an a girl claiming she's the manager Kayla???? The wait staff are always very nice and do a wonderful job. Living in the area the food definitely doesn't have the "love" it once did. While the cost of everything is surging and we understand price increases some of the items in the menu are not reasonable. $4.50 for one single hotdog, $5.00 for a plain small grilled cheese....just a little excessive compared to similar restaurants in the area. Sad that this place isn't like it used to be but nothing is anymore. The food isn't bad but it doesn't...
