Visited: 5/25 at approximately 3:00 AM I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever encountered—both in terms of customer service and sanitation. I ended up with food poisoning the very next day.
Our waitress was Lyniyah and the cook was the only Becky- Tonya I believe. I feel obligated to start with the most alarming issue: there were roaches—yes, actual roaches 🪳—crawling around the waffle maker. On top of that, there were fruit flies getting into our drinks, including a cup of coffee I had to send back after noticing dead flies floating in it.
We chose this location because my sister, visiting from out of town, wanted Waffle House before heading home after a night out. It was the closest location available.
There was another young Black woman working the to-go orders—she was polite at first, but clearly frustrated and disinterested in her job. She was rude to several paying customers and seemed bothered by anyone asking questions. Despite being behind the counter, she could’ve spent some time cleaning, because the area was visibly dirty and disorganized.
As for our service: • We sat at the bar and were initially ignored, despite only one other dine-in customer present. • It took quite a while before Lyniyah took our order, and she forgot to ask for drinks until we called her back over. • Our food came before our drinks. • I had to ask again for my coffee. When it finally came, I waited for it to cool off and saw dead fruit flies floating in it. I quietly brought it to her attention. • Then my food arrived, and I started eating—only to look up and see roaches crawling near the waffle maker.
At this point, my sister and friends had finished their meals and were disgusted. To top it off, Becky the cook then loudly announced that the ladies’ bathroom was “down for the night,” possibly due to a cut she sustained, which reportedly left blood in the restroom.
This location needs a full inspection by the health department immediately. The level of filth, pest presence, and lack of urgency or care from the staff made this not only unacceptable,...
Read moreThe staff was a bunch of ghetto gossiping women that were more concerned with their L O U D discussion than the customers . The countertop at the far end of the restaurant was the dumping ground for their personal belongings. People were standing waiting to sit while 3-4 spaces we're taken up by the staffs posessions. The waitresses L O U D cackling was very annoying to have to listen to, but it was their "attitudes" towards the customers who just wanted to get a place to sit that was more than troubling. Because of their on going L O U D discussion, they fell behind in their jobs. This created stress in which they then verbally turned on to the waiting customers. " I gets so sickka these people an dey attitudes. Who da hell dey they are?! Ya'll jus needta wait a damn minute till I can wipe off the table." This wasn't said to me ,but I was at the register trying to pay when it was. A gentleman asked if my table was available and I said, it was . Another waitress then came from behind the counter and held her arms out blocking anyone from sitting in that section and said the above statement. This was a perfect example of bad attitudes and an unbelievably rude staff. I personally was not acuasted by them, but I sure did witness it. They acted in a pack mentality that was becoming so agitated that felt that as a customer was going to have to physically defend myself or another very passive patron. Inexcusable behavior and language. Shame on the manager for allowing this to happen. Shame on Waffle House for allowing this kind of environment to exist in...
Read moreThis is truly one for the books. I’ve never known Waffle House to provide childcare while the parent is working. I patronize waffle houses quite often. Just got transferred to this location, so naturally this Was the spot! But, to my surprise the third shift is pretty much …work when you want to, or open to take mostly Togo orders. I mean for real what happened to dine in y relax. There are no regular workers at all. But there is one lady that celebrates Bring your child to work with Everyday!! For the last 2 weeks that I’ve been in this location, I go by there for the Texas Cheesesteak Plate, and she’s had her CHILD. But what really got me…Friday July 15,2022….she was behind the counter washes dishes. YES INDEED SHE WAS. Not sure what’s happened to the CHILD LABOR LAWS according to Waffle House but someone definitely needs to check into this!!!! So, I guess with my disappointment I should just go to the one in Ellenwood, cause the one is Lake City is usually closed also …and I’m wandering if they have a phone bill.. cause NO ONE...
