My family and I visit this location fairly often and I have never had a dining experience as horrific as this one was. I would like to begin by saying I am not difficult to please at restaurants. I have worked in the industry before and I get the issues that come with being a waitress. I try to be very understanding and forgiving. It takes a lot for me to complain to a manager, but I spoke to TWO tonight. Somehow Jade was given our table from our original waitress. No one informed us of this switch (no big deal) we order queso that we waited on for 30 minutes. I would have asked the waitress, but we never saw her. We ended up asking a waiter that was running around making sure his tables were happy. He went and checked on it and came back to us and followed up about it. We told him to just go ahead and cancel it. We’ll just eat our entrees. He says he will take it off the tab if we still want it no problem. We tell him thank you, but it’s really fine. No worries.
A manager came over to us (we did not ask to speak to her) she apologized for the queso and told us she would discount or tab. She also told us the waitress was new, I told her to let her know that she just needs to communicate that to her guests. Walking by and saying ‘hey guys, I’ll be right back, I am just super slammed’ totally understandable.
After that, our waitress would walk by our table and ignore us and mumble things under her breath. Other tables were noticing and looking at me like “is this for real?!” It was insane and incredibly unprofessional and uncalled for. At this point I walked to the back and asked to speak with a manager in private (didn’t want to embarrass the waitress) I tell her what is happening and she looks absolutely shocked. We get our bill, which is incredibly discounted, the waitress takes our card and doesn’t return for at least 10 minutes, which is concerning given her distaste for us. We waive over the waiter that actually tried to help us and give him a generous tip he says that next time we come in he will make sure that we are taken care of. I assume that she sees this exchange and she walks by with our receipt and starts mumbling again. I asked her if she had something she needed to say to me and she begins telling me that she’s busy and that I have given her an attitude all night. I am just baffled and tell her that it’s not even very busy in here and I am an understanding person, until I’m pushed over the edge. I will be honest, Jade brought the crazy out in me. I do not play these kind of games. If you have something to say to me, say it clearly to my face like a grown woman. I saw her on the other side of the restaurant when we were walking out of the door being hugged by a manager that I spoke to, so I know that she was not reprimanded by upper management for her inexcusable behavior. I make sure and tell her bye and waive and ask if she’d like to say anything else, we can step outside. She yells back ‘oh yea bitch’ and I said ‘oh yea’ spoiler alert. She doesn’t come out. Her manager (who I find out was off the clock and seemed to be intoxicated) comes out to talk to me about the situation. Expresses her absolute shock once again, which I know is a load of bull at this point. We end the conversation politely and my family and I leave. I will be contacting district managers now, which I have NEVER done before. This whole thing was just crazy! Other diners told me that they would not have been as calm as I was (before I started making a scene lol)
The waiter who helped us and we tipped was named Dylan and he was great. He seemed to be the only one that cared about his tables and as a waiter/tress that is a necessity when you depend on tips for a large portion of your income.
Sorry for the long post, but i had to...
Read moreMy best friend took me to the Forney Applebee's for my birthday dinner. It was kind of funny because I was telling her directions and told her to take 548 exit and it was down next to Chili's in Walmart parking lot. I've lived in Forney for 4 years but never been to the Applebee's. I do pass it almost everyday. I just had it in my mind that that's where it was with all of those restaurants. What's so funny is you do have to take the 548 exit and if you are headed east stay in the very left lane and go under the overpass and head back West on the service road and it's on your right before you get to Pinson exit. If you're headed west coming from Terrell you still have to take the 548 exit because the Pinson exit puts you too far past the Applebee's. I say all this because she had to call me and tell me that she couldn't find the Applebee's and then when I left my house I couldn't find the Applebee's because I went where I had told her. We eventually found each other and the Applebee's! Now for the menu! She had the 6 oz sirloin which she said was a bit dry although she did ask for it well done and she said it definitely was not mooing!LOL! I tried the Fire Grilled Chicken, which was marked lighter fare, LF, and was a cut up grilled chicken breast over rice and I believe it had pecans and maybe cranberries? What really made the dish was a type of tart apple chutney that was on top of the chicken breast. So good, I could have eaten two plates of it! The chicken breast tasted like it came off of the backyard grill but it was not dry at all. I do wish it would have come with a side or two especially since it was a lighter fare. For their dinner prices, in my opinion, all of the dinners could come with a choice of a small dinner salad and at least one side. We had a great waiter named Oscar. He was in such a good mood and made our dinner service totally a good experience! He made sure that our drinks were and he checked on his each time he walked by. Make sure to ask for him if you go. There wasn't too much to the atmosphere the inside of this Applebee's in Forney. But then again it wasn't as loud and boisterous as the Mesquite Applebee's tends to be. Though this was a Sunday evening. All in all a great time and we were able to have a great conversation because we could hear ourselves, and yet it wasn't like everybody else could...
Read moreWe ordered dinner for 2 adults and 3 kids tonight, through Applebee’s.com but of course it took us to Doordash. One of the kids alfredo’s was not in our bags. We received our side and drink that came with it but not the entree. We had to have it delivered because we are not able to leave.
As a family of 6, it is an incredible inconvenience to be missing just one child’s entree. Everybody else gets to eat hot delicious food, while that one kid just has to look on with envy. At least, she had her side of strawberries and yogurt, which was in her words “the best”, to tide her over.
We contacted the store and even though I might have been a bit snippy with the girl who answered the phone before him, (sorry for that) *Andre the Manager practically cut me off to say he would personally bring it to us, himself. He did and quickly. We were barely through our meal, before he arrived with my daughter’s steaming hot food. He wouldn’t even accept the $5 my husband tried to give him. He said he was “just happy to make it right” and he did.
All of our food was delicious, my bourbon chicken and shrimp was yummy. My husband’s burger was cooked just the way he likes it, plain and dry and the kids alfredo’s were very tasty. They all gave emphatic, thumbs up, through their mouthfuls. The cookies were wonderful too.
Thank you *Andre! I hope I remembered your name correctly because you deserve all the credit for making this right! Bravo to you and your store, we are very happy customers here at the Hill house and will absolutely be back. Much...
