I don't even know where to begin but I'll start with my first impression when my husband and I pulled up to the front to check in. Your hotel has a serious problem with employees smoking. They sit right out front to do it which absolutely blew my mind! When we first pulled up, there were two right out front and when my husband opened the car door, smoke smell filled up the car and immediately made me gag. That smell is still in our car and will need to get professionally cleaned to get it out. Then, while my husband was still inside, another employee walked up to the actual front door with a cigarette in her mouth. When my husband finally came back to the car, another guy had come out to smoke. Two more employees were seen while we were still waiting to check in for a total of 6 that we saw in the time span of just an hour. That brings me to my other complaint. We called the day before (Thursday April 12th) to make sure that we could be accommodated before making the 3 hour drive. We were told that we would be able to check in early since we would be in town early and that they would make sure to have a room clean and ready for our arrival. That was a lie. We had to wait for an hour and a half for our room to be ready because the housekeeper was at lunch. (Who takes a lunch at the most critical time of their job?) We also made sure to find out exactly how much the room would be so we knew how much money to plan on bringing with us set aside for the room. We specifically asked if there would be an added deposit for our dogs and they said that no, there would not be a pet deposit because they don't ever have one or ask for one and that the $25/per pet added to the room makes up for the lack of deposit. So it was a huge surprise when, at check-in, we were told there would also need to be a $50 pet deposit. We were told there wasn't one. My husband thinks its because of how he looks, that he was asked to pay a deposit. He is covered head to toe in tattoos and is always judged and treated differently because of that. He is a tattoo artist and owns his own business. He is a family man who never gets into any trouble, but he is always treated like a criminal. I'm not saying that is why we were asked to pay a deposit, but it's the only thing my husband can think of other than your employees are just stupid and don't know your own policies. So he was pretty upset at this point of how we have been treated. We almost decided to just sleep in our car the for night. When everything was finally ready we go to our room and I walked straight to the AC because it was so hot in there. It wouldn't turn on. It took a lot of effort for my husband to figure out how to turn it on, but when he finally did, the air flow was so weak that we had to call the front desk for a new room. My husband has epilepsy and he cant get too hot or he has a seizure. The front desk told us there were no other rooms available but they would send a maintenance man in. The guy was very nice, but he didn't do anything other than read the air temp with some digital thermometer thingy. The room eventually got a little cooler (hours later) but it never felt comfortable because there was no air flow/circulation. It was just stagnant mildly cool air. We had to just sit still all day/night so we didn't get overheated, it was that fine line of cool air. As you can see from the pictures I have taken, the AC is filthy! Very thick dust and fungus everywhere. I stuffed tissues over the huge chunks of fungus because some would fall onto the floor and my dogs almost ate it. I did that to stop more from falling out. And the smell was unbelievable. It was even worse when we woke up the next morning. I really hope we don't get sick from this. Moving on, another complaint I have is that the beds were so wrinkled. It was actually the first thing I noticed when we got to our room. They were neatly made, but very wrinkled. I highly doubt they were fresh blankets. My character limit is exceeded so I will add on to this if I can because I am no where near done with...
Read moreThe Best Western Plus Christopher Inn & Suites is an exceptional place to stay! I wish we could have stayed longer! We had an issue with the camper we were pulling late one night & needed a place to park & stay for the night. We just so happened to be right in front of the Best Western Plus. I typically recieve better prices by reserving rooms online. Although we were already there, I did a quick online search for the best price which was $13 cheaper than their regular rate. I simply showed the attendant the quote & she didn't hesitate to honor the price. The room was surprisingly stylish & beautiful. Comparable to a much more expensive hotel. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. The bathroom was well equiped with all the essentials including more than enough towels (which is rare) & a hair dryer. And, just incase you had forgot something, they offered all kinds of complimentary items that could be picked up at the front desk. A coffee bar in the room included a coffee maker & all the fixins, a mini fridge, & a microwave, complete with cabinets. The room also included a linen closet, a flat screen TV & an actual thermostat with central heating & air, and a ceiling fan. Other amenities included a coin operated washer & dryer for guest use (another rare find in this price range), a smaller, but nice & clean outdoor pool, plus a multitude of snacks, drinks & medicines that could be purchased. The complimentary breakfast had lots of options & was very tasty. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is only because although the rest of the room was clean, the floor in the foyer area of our room hadn't been swept good before our stay. Other than that, everything was exceptional & we enjoyed our stay...
Read moreWe weren't planning on having to stay at a hotel but I'm happy I found this one. We ended up staying twice; so we stayed in a different room each night. The 1st night we had 2 queen beds. The beds were plush & comfortable. The pillows could've been bigger but at least there were 4 on each bed. The kiddos ♥️ the swans they make with the towels & the 1st room also had a rose made on the end of the toilet paper (which the kids proclaimed we were not using that one so the "flower" wouldn't get messed up! Good thing there were 2 rolls lol). I've posted pics. For 3 of us there were only 2 towels. The 2nd night we were in a different room. I didn't think to take photos of that cuz by the time we got checked in it was after midnight!. There was a king size bed and sofa bed. The king was as comfortable as the previous room. I will say that if you get into a room with the foldout bed be prepared because moving the table was HARD. I had just tore my bicep and my helpers were kids but that table was HEAVY. Initially we didn't think it moved but the bed wouldn't go over it so we figured it had to. It took all 3 of us to push it out of the way. Again the towel count was lacking. But both rooms were quiet, clean & worth the money. I appreciated the iron & hairdryer. Although room 130 was somewhat nicer the other room had a shower remodel that was nicer.
Breakfast was also good and the menu was different each day. The kids ♥️d the gym & pool. I didn't get to use the gym equipment (see shoulder reference) but I did go in the swimming pool. It was a nice pool & had a small waterfall feature. I'd definitely stay at this hotel again. I felt safe, enjoyed the quiet, the amenities & easy access to...
