I am writing to express my concern regarding the experience I had at your Chicken Express location in Forney, Texas, on August 30th, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM. Upon arriving at the drive-thru, the restaurant appeared to be closed due to the lack of exterior lighting. However, after some hesitation, I proceeded to follow another vehicle and inquired if the establishment was still open. Another customer informed me that the lights were out but that the restaurant was still operating, albeit in a less-than-ideal manner. When I reached the speaker, I asked how many sides were included with the 20-piece tender meal. The staff member initially informed me that only one side was included, but quickly corrected herself to two sides. I then placed my order, requesting fries and fried okra. When I pulled up to the window, a staff member named Thersa informed me that the total would be over $40. I was surprised by the high price and expressed my concern. Thersa responded dismissively, suggesting I could "go to Golden Chick then," or words to that effect. Shocked by her response, I asked for her name and the manager's contact information. I then parked my vehicle and entered the restaurant to discuss the matter with the manager on duty. Once inside, the tone of the staff changed noticeably upon realizing that I am a police officer. Thersa distanced herself from the situation, and the manager was immediately apologetic, acknowledging that her comments were inappropriate and "out of line." While I appreciated his apology, the experience had already left a negative impression. As a police officer, I am committed to values of respect, protection, and service. I expect similar principles from the businesses I frequent, particularly those that are family-owned and claim to be community-oriented. Unfortunately, my experience on August 30th fell far short of these expectations. Chicken Express has long been a staple in the community, and as one of the original chicken restaurants in the area, I would expect your establishment to set the standard for quality service. However, I was disappointed to find that I could not locate any mission statement or values on your website, which raises the question: What is Chicken Express's commitment to the community of Forney and its customers? I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and that appropriate actions be taken to ensure that such incidents do not recur. I look forward to hearing from you regarding how Chicken Express intends to uphold its reputation and serve the community with the respect and quality it deserves. Thank you for your attention to...
Read moreOrder a 7 piece tender meal. Drove off not checking my food. Then shouldn’t have to check my food. I got a 4 piece tender of the most dry and crusty looking tenders. I immediately turned around and drove back. After sliding the box on the counter next to the register with no one at it. A short Hispanic woman with tattoos proceed to give me a nasty look from around the corner. I told her in a short and kinda rude tone the issue. My issue is is if you did it right the first time I wouldn’t have to come back spending my fuel in my time. She didn’t attitude while saying that she can remake my order the entire time bobbing her head around in an attitude making my order account. I hope they have cameras so they can see this woman’s attitude. She’s then slides the box back at me over-the-counter and says enjoy or something to that effect I don’t really remember, and I told her that she doesn’t need an attitude because they were wrong. She didn’t tell me if I wanted to make a complaint that I can talk to the manager and she gave me her name so I made a complaint with her manager, and she proceeded to lie and say that I threw the box at her. From now on, I’ll just go to canes. I wish there were someway that I could talk to the store manager because I ran into the owner who owns not only the store but the one in Seagoville and two other stores he’s really nice guy, but his...
Read moreFirst time here got a number 30 regular with Mac and cheese, fries and mini poppers. The chicken was cooked but the batter was spotty and not adhered any. The mac and cheese was blan and over cooked. The fries were absolutely delicious The poppers were good but more than half of them had almost congiled cheddar which made them horrible. The buns were good, the gravy was without flavor or consistency, it was basically water with a hint of white color. We ended up throwing it out and feeding the chicken to the dogs and decided to get taco bell instead which was very busy but no complaints with the food in comparison. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this to anyone. The food was sub par, if your at the best western behind them do yourself a favor and do one of the other options you'll thank yourself. The service was okay the gentelman that took our order definitely seemed to have an attitude, and made an effort to seem uninterested and spoke without intention or volume and mumbled the whole interaction. Hopefully this is not what the franchise gives to customers on a regular basis but what we experienced we all decided it was the first and is the last time we will eat here or any of the other stores. Hopefully this helps someone in the future to avoid our fate from...
