I've given straight "good" but for me it really was better than that. Just not sure it gets to the "very good" that others expect. So: We were here for firefighter weekend Mar 15-17, and wanted to find something other than the accidental tourist sort of place. My cell phone told me that this was the place, and so it was. After our training ended for the day, two of us convinced two others, and the four of us grabbed another two from our county and convinced them to come along. We all enjoyed it very much. For three of us, the Texas fajitas were great, and I have it on record from my sister firefighter that the margaritas were too. Staff were busy but coordinated - they checked back quickly on a busy 7pm Saturday, resupplied us with chips, salsa, checked out our drink requirements, otherwise let us enjoy our meal. I'd go back, and I'd recommend El Tejado. Glad...
Read moreWe needed a place to eat on our stop during a roadtrip. This came up with good reviews in the area. One person stating it was the best mexican food they've ever had. I wouldnt go that far but it was good. Service was good but they weren't very busy when we got there. We split a combination plate and ordered an extra chalupa. Most of the food had ground beef and that was just okay. The chicken flauta was my favorite. The Chile relleno had beef in it. Thats a first as it usually just has cheese when I've had them. Just beware it's not a vegetarian option. Wasn't sure what the chalupa would be but it didnt resemble anything like the Taco Bell version. It was a mini tostada bowl with beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and guacamole. Good food and service would recommend for travelers like us looking for something...

I ordered the Burrito Verde (#46). Your choice of filling is grilled chicken or steak, plus it comes with a green sauce, white cheese and rice and beans. I chose chicken. Delicioso! It was like a fajita stuffed inside a burrito. The chargrilled flavor on the chicken, onions and peppers (the menu said tomatoes were inside too, but I didn't get any) was very appetizing.
Our server was great, we had lots of free salsa refills and plenty of soda. Without the salsa, I give El Tejado Mexican Restaurant five stars. With the...
