William Oliver's Publick House — Restaurant in Fort Collins

Came in for brunch on Sunday and it was not very busy, only a few tables. We were a two-top, and sat immediately. Only one employee was working. We were not offered water and drinks took a while to come. We ordered iced teas and had to ask for sweetener. No silverware or napkins were brought out until the food arrived. We were only given a fork, so I had to ask for a knife, which never arrived. Most of the brunch items have a pouched egg, per the menu, but all of the eggs were overcooked (yolk was hard, not runny, as a pouched egg should be). We were not offered a refill on drinks but had to request another iced tea, which arrived well after we were done eating.

I visit the neighborhood often and really wanted to like this place, as it has a great looking menu, but overall it did not deliver. On the plus side, the bacon...

Great atmosphere. I'm sure the food and drink are great too, but we didn't get a change to experience either. We left after 15 -20 of trying to fight with others for a place to sit. The BIG downside of this establishment is the first come first serve only seating. When it's busy you are forced to hover over people's tables and fight for seats with people who may have come in 10-15 minutes AFTER you. It's a stressful and unpleasant experience for those seeking a place to sit and annoying for those already sitting, as they have groups of people hovering over their tables like vultures. There's nothing worse than seeing someone come right in the door and steal a table you've been waiting on for 20 minutes. Very friendly and professional staff. You will find that they treat their customers with respect and make you feel like "family".

Great selection of delicious food to choose from.

Wide variety of drink selections. (Join their whiskey club.)

Great atmosphere whether you are alone, on a date, or with others. (No televisions plastered on the walls. Low volume music that you can hear, yet keep a conversation going.)

The clientele are very friendly among each other.

Everything and everyone make you feel welcomed and comfortable. I look forward to spending more time here.
