Visited for 1st time on 5/5/25 between 12:25-1pm. The buildings architecture is the giveaway of it being a former Long John Silvers (closed in 2014), right next door to what was obviously a former dine-in buffet Pizza Hut (both part of the Yum, Yes or whatever the corporation is now called). Practically dead empty for a restaurant that's been open for 7 years with only myself in main dining area & 2 parties of 2 in the other room that left later on, didn't see the other dining area, but the main could seat approx. 30; With 3-4 employees working. Menu prices were good, service was friendly & attentive, with the food & portions also good. Not a fan of Sushi or seafood. They also have hibachi.... so had their teriyaki chicken. Bare-minimum aesthetic. The only issue I had was tipping; Bill was approx. $15.50, gave the girl a $20 and stated: "if I can get change back", she just responds with: "Thank you, come again"... waited 5 minutes while finishing my beverage before leaving and never got the change back. Based on other reviews I'm not the only 1 who's had this issue of them "helping themselves" in regards to tipping.... Think most folks would see 30% as steep for gratuity, especially for a fast-casual restaurant. Was planning on $3 which is a more...
Read moreCame here from out of town, and wasn’t sure what to expect. Usually most Japanese steakhouse restaurants are much nicer, and it felt like walking into an old diner. It was fine, just was expecting a bit more elegance when you’re paying good money for sushi. The pricing was akin to what we have paid in Seattle or in other small to medium cities.
The sushi was actually very good. The fried rice and yum yum sauce had much left to be desired.
We certainly were NOT impressed by the service. The female waitress did not smile, wouldn’t acknowledge most questions I would ask (“Do you have yum yum sauce?” She didn’t answer), and forgot my fried rice, and essentially ignored our table after getting our order and drinks. A male who worked there, that my wife had to go find, was very helpful and accommodating.
In conclusion - I’d recommend to go there for the sushi, but I’d tell them to stay clear of the female server unless she decides to have better attitude and service...
Read moreLunchtime @1pm wkday Walking in, was greeted and taken to a booth in a side room right away. Server was polite and friendly, answering questions about the menu. Old Christmas deco is dotted here and there (end of May) and the room has a mix of American, Japanese, and Chinese decor I can see from where I'm sitting. The blinds and windowsills do not have any dust, looks to be cleaned regularly. A single bathroom at the end of the sideroom denotes male/female toilet. Very clean, if old minimal bathroom. When food arrived, I was absolutely astounded! I don't usually get fancy stuff, I turned beet red from how pretty it was. Coming from socal and being particular about fish, I was very happy with the quality of the dishes. We ordered all sushi rolls, and they were all amazing. At different price points, for lunch you can get a good amount of food for $10 to $30 depending on your tastes. Thank you for the experience! We will definitely...
