ALDI — Local services in Fort Dodge

The remodel is great and I love coming for all the fresh produce! But, many employees are rude. They don't greet you at the register, anytime I try and start a simple conversation I get shut down. There is typically only one lane open, at most two, with 6 customers backed up per lane. I had gone in without a cart and ended up getting more than I had expected, and the cashier refused to let me use the extra cart to take to bag up my groceries. Even though the couple customers before me had run their hands on them to get their groceries out. I thought carts were required to be cleaned between customers, but I guess not when you didnt grab a cart...

Ok, so we had a mobile pickup order this afternoon that never got fulfilled. The instacart app said ready at 3:25p, then said delayed to 3:45p, but when we showed up at 3:40p it still hadn't been shopped. Came back after 5:30p to follow up on the missing order and Todd set us straight. He says the app is a decade behind, the phone he was given is an iPhone 4, and the process is garbage. I always forget to check Aldi when I shop, but usually I find good deals here. The one problem is that they don't always have the same merchandise, which is why the prices are better I'm sure. Bring a quarter if you want a cart, you'll get it back. Also bring bags or snag some boxes as you shop so you don't have to buy them at check out. You bag your own. The food is fresh and good, just not all name brands, though they have a few. And they have gourmet cheeses if you like, that's a great...
