Visited for the first time on 12/6/24 between 2-2:30pm, since moving to the area 4 months prior. Former dine-in Pizza Hut converted into an oriental buffet. Food was alright, small when it comes to what your paying & getting. With tax its almost $16 for lunch & $17 for dinner & weekends, drink included. 6 total buffet tables, sadly less than half is actual oriental food. Certain common things such as Chinese walnut cookies most have, they just have regular store bought cookies such as chips ahoy or oreo's. Homemade "Rice Krispys" that were bland & flavorless. Did have 4 different chicken dishes & 2 pork dishes.... only downside was the sweet & sour chicken already mixed in sauce when there's a neighboring tray with separate sauce. As another reviewer pointed out the fried rice was also flavorless. Only oriental buffet option in Fort Dodge that only has 4 Asian restaurants to date. (Teriyaki Madness .5 mile away,, Sushi restaurant next door in former Long John Silvers & Korean restaurant at Country Club 3 miles away). Closest Oriental buffet from here would be 15 miles away in Webster City otherwise 60 miles...
Read moreI've been coming here for many years. I'm a truck driver for Decker. I stop in whenever I come to Fort Dodge.
I recommend coming at lunch when everything is fresh. Also recommend coming as they change to dinner. They make sure everything is fresh and full.
My favorites are the chicken on a stick, jalapeno chicken, steamed shrimp and the hot & sour soup.
If something runs out just ask them and they will make it fresh. You will need to keep an eye out because they don't come to tell you at your table.
I asked for chicken on a stick one time and they didn't tell me and by the time I got back up, there was only one left. A large man left one and took the rest about 7. The rule of thumb is to take 1-2 at a time it's just common courtesy so others may have a chance to taste too.
I stay...
Read moreA bad review of a Chinese buffet can focus on the low quality of the food (cold, greasy, understocked), the lack of hygiene (dirty floors, presence of insects), poor service (delay in replenishing food, or poor service from the staff) or the high price in relation to the experience. It can also include complaints about the lack of options for food selection, the poor quality of drinks or the presence of allergens such as monosodium glutamate in the dishes. I have traveled all over the US 🇺🇸 and there was never food something like that spoiled food expired they should be more aware that here children come to eat and can get sick. Very expensive food and mistreatment...
