The place is a typical small grill. They where busy, but the place was a bit dirty and needed floor cleaned and tables cleared. The service was OK but did not feel very welcomed, looked like the take out orders where more important. Had to get my own menu and then waitress took a long time to come back. The food was plentiful, with average plating. The grouper sandwich was served on a very nice roll, was crisp and fairly tasty. The down side was it did have a slight dirty oil taste, not bad but noticeable. The onion rings where huge and sadly not good at all. They where far to greasy, batter was far to thick and still gooey inside. They where very brown, so I believe it is a cooking issue, batter to thick. Overall the place is OK, I will be calling back Thursday as my credit card was charged the wrong amount, which I am not happy about! I called back and the check out system pre-authorizes a 20% tip, even if you leave cash! Never herd of this before and 1st restaurant I have ever been to that has done this. They said it will back out after 1 day, but really? Hmmmm....well it came off the bill, still a...
Read moreStop here for good breakfast and good people. I've been here more times than I can count. Always for breakfast because it's the only time I'm in the area, but if the rest of the menu is as good as breakfast, it's definitely worth a try. The country fried steak is real steak with a well seasoned crust, not a frozen patty that you can cut with a fork like most places. The breakfast potatoes look like quartered red potatoes, well seasoned and cooked with onions. The French toast is actual French bread. The food is always fresh and good quality for a decent price. I highly reccomend the country fried steak and the hungry man special.
This place is a little hole in the wall type place that has no business being as good as it is. The waitresses are always friendly and it seems like almost everyone eating here is a regular. Not a lot of seating, but I've never had a problem getting a table. They seem to do a pretty bustling delivery and takeout service as well. Give them a try for good comfort food, with friendly people, and...
Read moreI can't believe how many times I have driven by here, it's a shame honestly. The atmosphere is classic diner and I love it. I have a specific dish to test diner/breakfast spots, which is biscuits and gravy. I have had amazing and terrible experiences depending on location and recipe.
Fowler Street Grill nails it with classic biscuits and gravy. The gravy is mild and smooth, the biscuits are more of the fresh fluffy kind, not the hard buttermilk biscuits. I like both a hard stale buttermilk biscuits and a fluffy warm one. I really enjoyed the meal, I ordered a single scrambled egg with my half order of biscuits and gravy, and per diner style it was roughly 3-4.
I had an Arnold Palmer with breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. The lemonade is listed as homemade and it tastes like it. Honestly this was the best Arnold Palmer I have ever had, and our server offered us a to go cup.
Last note is to our server, Nikki, who was not only professional, and attentive but an absolute sweetheart. We will definitely...
