This business has been our favorite stop for great pizza until yesterday. We stopped in early afternoon and ordered the House Special Pizza, always our favorite. As always the business was packed inside and very busy. Our pizza arrived and as normal the outer crust exposed rim was blackened from the hot oven. However, the entire bottom of the pizza was heavily blackened which we have not experienced before and all we could taste was the burnt crust which ruined their great pizza. We showed the young woman working the front counter and she looked at the pizza apologized saying the pizza was not supposed to be this burnt on the bottom and she would replace it with one properly baked, which see did. However, while waiting a young man from the kitchen, who was evidently in charge, came out to our table and began to scold us saying this is how they always bake the pizza since the oven is so very hot. He implied there was something wrong with us not his pizza. When I stated our previous pizzas had never been this burnt before he replied that in the future if we would need to state we wanted the pizza baked"light" or we would always get our pizza the way he made it today. He was not friendly or polite and made us feel like we had done something wrong. I must say it was quite embarrassing. So "warning to all customers if you do not want a great pizza that is not blackened so badly on the bottom that all you taste is burnt dough please order the pizza baked light and avoid the rear kitchen staff". Highly disappointed in what used to be The best pizza in town for which we drove 25 miles to order and eat. The replacement was great by the way.
This is our original review: We have been looking for great pizza in Southwest Florida and have finally found it. The Pizza is outstanding and more than worth the 40 minute drive...
Read moreLike many read the latest article praising the owner on making an award winning pie, so I decided to try for myself. I called on a Wednesday right before 5 pm to place my order. At first the call would not go through after trying a few times it did, and I was placed on hold immediately I waited 14 mins on hold and no answer then disconnected and started heading over there. I called again on the way again placed on hold immediately without being able to explain I was on hold for 14 minutes already. So when I got there I was on hold for almost 10 mins. Now the challenge was looking for an empty parking spot to park in. Luckily it wasn't too long before someone left and I was able to park. The place is in a little corner but still very visible for anybody to find. I finally go to enter, and I opened the door and could not walk in because the counter to order was right in front of the door and there were 3 people in line between the counter and the door. After a few minutes I am able to walk in and explain about being on hold for a total of 25 mins. The girl sincerely apologized and said she was the only one there taking calls and helping people, and I saw that so I understood and placed my order. She offered to take it to my car when ready, so I accepted, and I waited maybe 20 minutes. She was kind enough to place the pizzas in the back seat for me and I offered to tip and she refused but I insisted. I got home and the pizzas looked great and tasted even better. I would go through all this again, because the quality of the pizza is top notch. If I could recommend one thing now that this place is on the map more than ever is to expand to a bigger place and more help. I would like to see a franchise in the Cape around veterans soon 😉 Keep up...
