St. Lucie County has dozens and dozens of Italian restaurants. I have my top 3 and by far, Angelina's is one of them! I love this place! I come here about once a month for lunch. For starters, I absolutely love the Italian wall decor and atmosphere. They always have some Italian oldies music (Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett) playing in the background. A huge plus!
It literally is a hole in a wall, but let me tell you, you will NOT be disappointed. It's tucked around in the back of the plaza when you travel down Collonades Drive a few feet. You will have to park behind the plaza. Once you walk in, you might think you stepped into a restaurant in Italy.
I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with their creamy Alfredo sauce and shrimp. Make no mistake...it is exquisite! Way better than what they serve at the national chain Italian restaurant that rhymes with the phrase " All of gotten" But I digress.
The Alfredo sauce was creamy and thick and no doubt was home made to perfection. The quantity of my serving was very generous, so they're not stingy with the pasta and shrimp. The shrimp was cooked, very plump and tasty.
I also had pasta e fagioli soup with my meal. It was a very plentiful serving and the tomato base was very tasteful. The contents of the soup were beans, vegetables and small bits of pasta. The garlic knots are highly recommended. The outside is lightly crispy, buttered and seasoned. Once you bite into them the consistency is flaky, not douhghy.
My server, a young lady by the name of Zoey has always been courteous and very attentive to my needs. She is quick to have my lunch served with minimal waiting. I have a 10 minute rule, and by far she always serves my hot lunch well within the ten minutes.
Prices are reasonable. It's about average for what I would expect to pay for my meal. I believe I paid around $17 for my Fettuccine. They also have a bar as well with a good assortment of your favorite liquor.
In conclusion, sometimes you have to try these little "ma and pa" Italian restaurants and by far this place is superior! Well worth the price and the quality of food is like "what ma ma used to make" I visit here about once or twice a month with my...
Read moreYesterday we were at Angelina’s for lunch. Arrived at 12:30, walked in and sat ourselves as no one was there to greet us. Table of 6 (getting ready to leave) and another table of 2. We had a table of 3. We waited about 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged by anyone. Server finally came over and took our order, returned with our drinks and salad about 10 minutes later. NOW we were the ONLY ones in dining room. Then a table of 3 came in and sat behind us. About 30 minutes later the table behind us got their salads and pizza. We still did NOT have our meals. Table behind us finished their lunch and said to us "You've been here a long time and you still don't have your meal."? Now it's been about 45-50 minutes since we ordered. Finally the food came out and I commented nicely "who forgot about us"? Server chuckled and said "the ticket didn't print out"! No apology, no nothing, just a chuckle. We also had to ask for our garlic knots as they didn't get served either. She never once came and asked to refill our drinks, ask how our food was, but of course we saw her again when it came time to give us our bill. We've eaten at Angelina's many times in the last several years and we've never had a complaint about your food. We love your food.... But we were very disappointed in the lack of service and the common courtesy to us. We don't ever expect perfection, but this was a very poor representation of your restaurant yesterday, especially when there were only 2 tables of 3 in the restaurant. I wouldn't normally leave a review but I felt you needed to know...
Read moreIf you ever have a chance to come to Ft. Pierce, make a stop at Angelina's. To find a good restaurant is either luck or a good recommendation. In our case we had luck. My wife found it on maps and the reviews were great. We came to try it.
We drove into a small mall in front of a marina, parked our car and walked the small corridor to the back of it. It called my attention the Italian ice cream place (a must go) and then the restaurant itself. Two Italians side-by-side, that's a good sign.
When we came in the waitress sat us down and gave us the menu. An all Italian menu (I missed the gnocchi though). Around us a few tables with regulars and lots of food and wine.
I ordered a beer, wife and kids went for the pink lemonade, a veggie pizza, a fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and two spaghetti pomodoro. My son loves pasta so, as usual, he left no trace of food on the plate. My daughter doesn't eat much although she also loves pasta. I didn't expect to see her dish empty. My wife wanted to eat it all but my son asked a bit to taste. My pizza was crunchy very well made and full of flavor. For desert we had the filled manicotti with sweet cream and chocolate chips (good, but get the ice cream nextdoor).
If I lived closer I would become a regular but for sure, every time we drive to Legoland we will come by and have a wonderful meal. I hope this review can help you find a great place to eat a homemade pasta that melts in your...
