Worst service and food I think I’ve ever had in a restaurant. We arrived on a Thursday at 7 pm. We had to beg for someone to take at least a drink order after sitting for 15 minutes despite many servers. An hour after the order was taken, the server came back to say there weren’t enough soups left for our table, with no apology but offer of a different food When the main dishes came- I had ordered the chicken nachos with the bacon on the side. The server plopped the dish on the table and said- we’re out of bacon. The nachos were cold and hard. A hand full of COLD shredded cheese was thrown atop a mound of stale purple nachos with two small slices of chicken- like would go on a salad. A bunch of jalapeños and what appeared to be a whole, entire, red onion was thrown on. Our server disappeared after dropping off the dishes. 10 minutes later a server finally came to the table beside ours. I asked - are the nachos to supposed to come out like this- without melted cheese and chicken? She said no, I’ll take that for you. She disappeared in the kitchen. Next a crowd of servers rush go the side if the restaurant to cheer loudly for someone and the bartender jumped over the bar, putting her feet on the counter where folks eat and drink to rush over to them. I’m still waiting for the right nachos to come out. Our server cleans the table beside ours, making no eye contact and saying nothing....then she comes out with the bill (at 8:40) to tell us she took the nachos off. I asked - are they coming back out? The right way? She said - “No, the kitchen is closed.” No apology, no sorry for the wasting nearly two hours of your life and you still have to leave and find your supper. I asked to speak to a manager...it took forever and finally she came up. I told her what all happened. She still offers no apology and only asked if they took off the nachos! THAT’S not the point!!! I hope the...
Read moreCannot recommend as we only had the conch fritters. Those were good, but took almost an hour to get them. And only because a random waiter named Joe took the order. He told the waitress, Roxy, to get to us. She continued to walk by our table on her way to the group of 8 people seated on the lower area. Even when she managed to come to us, no excuse was given for her neglect of our table. We had to ask for water, ask what the fresh catch was, ask what the seasonal vegetables were...she offered no information. Did not ask if we needed more drinks. To make matters worse, she took our order, then waited another 15-20 min to put it in. We watched other people who had come in 45 min after us eat, then leave. We were there right around 6:30 & finally asked for the original guy to come back as he knew what our order was so we could settle up. I'm assuming the owner is who we spoke to at the end, although he didn't identify himself either. We got lots of 'the kitchen is backed up' from Roxy & then from him. We told him what time we had gotten there & it was 8 PM by then. So 90 min for 2 drinks that my husband had to walk to the bar to order, then the fritters almost 45-60 min later. The owner was nice enough to comp the fritters, but he was trying to get us to stay since our food had been put in. We got up and left. My husband has worked restaurants for many years and was furious at the lack of service. He would go in & turn places like this around to get them successful. Maybe 'on the edge' means they are on the edge of going out of business. If they have more servers like Roxy, wouldn't surprise me. Nice way to watch the sunset, but that's all we got out of it. Unfortunately, it was our anniversary. We won't make the mistake of going back. Fortunately, we still had leftover pizza from Vincent's in Vero, so that was our...
Read moreI will start by saying that the location is great. You are right by the water and there is ample space, especially in compliance with social distancing. Parking is not a huge problem but somewhat limited if it's a busy day/night.
There is live bands on certain nights and happy hour available as well. You have the option to sit upstairs (open air) or downstairs on the sandy area. Downstairs they have a bar as well for walk up service.
If you're into craft beer, some of the wait staff may not be familiar with them, so be prepared. Drinks are strong and decently priced.
Ordered the wings, mussels, ceaser salad, surf and turf tacos, and the Mahi reuben (or Rachel). The wings and the fries were probably the best thing we had, unfortunately...
To sum it up, the cook enjoys salt and overcooking. Mussels were cooked perfectly but very very salty, almost inedible. Surf and turf tacos, for the price, was ridiculous in my opinion. The meat was way overcooked and did not taste like steak, making it taste more like a hamburger meat. Also not much meat in their famous taco platter. Shrimp was salty and slightly overcooked. The ceaser salad was fresh and good. Wings had great flavor and perfectly cooked. All the fries were perfectly cooked as well and had great flavor, not the usual greasiness. The Mahi, which is what I was looking forward to, was the worst. Rubbery and dry of how overcooked it was, no flavor, and to top if off was inside two dry pieces of bread and on top of a mayo coleslaw. No thousand island anywhere to be found.
Unfortunately the service which was ok, and the food which was not at all good or what's expected for the location, history of some reviews and or verbal recommendations, nor price, was up to par. If I'm in the mood for some afternoon chill time with some beers or drinks and maybe wings, I...
