I've been there 6 or 7 times, and the lobby and tables are often untidy and in need of cleaning / sweeping, even when there are few customers inside or at the drive thru. The staff are mostly a little bit on the slow and unhappy side, like they would rather be someplace else, except for one middle-aged lady who seems to do most of the work, quickly and efficiently, while the rest do just enough to stay employed. However much they are paying her, it should be more - she is the only good, hard-working, and motivated employee I've seen in the place.
The chicken tastes really good, hot & fresh, and so worth the wait; so, even though the service is generally slow and robotic, I keep going back. Use the drive thru, and take your meal home if you can, since the inside is usually not as clean as it could be, esp. during slow times when there are employees free that could be put to cleaning tables, wiping countertops, and sweeping floors.
From what I've seen, the few times I have been to the other KFC across town, they are both about the same - good chicken, but cleanliness and customer service speed could be improved, if they just put some effort into it.
I stopped by again (Mar. 11, 2019, about 3 weeks later) at around 1:20 p.m. for some chicken to-go. They were out of extra-crispy dark meat (my favorite), but said there would be some coming up fresh in 17 minutes - considerably longer than I want to wait, esp. when I'm hungry - so I got regular even though it wasn't what I came for. Color me "DISAPPOINTED", esp. as I drove right past Popeye's a few blocks down the street & would have stopped there if I had known KFC was going to be out of extra-crispy.
The place was "more or less" clean, as usual, and most of the crew was moving at 1/2 speed as usual too; except one older grey/red haired lady named Michelle (spell? She wasn't wearing a name tag, so I asked) who was doing everything at maximum overdrive speed, also as usual. She is amazing, and I made a point of telling her so. Too bad the rest of the crew can't / doesn't / won't show the same level of hussle. However much they are paying Michelle, it should be more, esp. since she's usually doing the work of 2 or 3 people, whenever I stop by & see that she's there.
I held the door open for a disabled man (with a cane), on the way out, and the woman he was with asked me, "Did they get your order wrong?" like she was fully expecting me to answer "yes". I pay for my order and it's 35.57 I'm like ok so I look at my recipe and my order and see I have no chicken so I tell the young guy at the register hey man I'm missing stuff from my order he then looks at my recipe and says no it's all here I said "no it was an order for Eight tenders and eight pieces of the chicken with sides" he says I can get you the chicken I said ok thanks then he say that will be 24 dollars I'm like the hell I'm not pay 24 dollars more for chicken. Then the magic comes and I explain everything to him.And he's like well.The least I can do is take four dollars off the charge. I'm like no I placed the order and it was messed up he says We can't give refunds.And I said I'm not asking for a refund.I just want my 8 pieces of the chicken and he tells me.It's gonna be $24 and I said no.I'm not paying twenty four dollars for chicken. Read moreI am concluding a review I started on the Poteau KFC which is now closed, smart move KMAC, My goodness, so long story short, really, I wound up having to call KMAC about the Poteau KFC. So, Christopher Gosch sent me a $40 gift card for the KFC part of KMAC. I received it just a few days ago. Thank you Mr Gosch. My entire family ate well on that gift card and everything was wonderful! We had the 16 piece family dinner. 4 sides, Potatoes and gravy (which were separate) but counted as 1, A+; Fries, OMGOSH, fresh and so good. I love the seasoning on the fries! Mac and cheese, excellent pasta was done perfectly! The coleslaw was made like I prepare it! Sweet and savory all in the same bite. I couldn't help but finish it off for lunch! The chicken was cooked to perfection. We ordered half Original and half Extra Crispy. Both buckets were built the same just 2 different breadings, just as we ordered it. Thank you for correcting the mistake made in Poteau KFC store and thank you for closing the KFC portion of the Poteau store. Thank you to the Folks who work Second Shift in the Hwy 71 Ft Smith Arkansas KFC, For knowing what and how to serve food.
