Whenever I visit this store, some of the employees are just super helpful, and willing to take the time to help. This newest location in Fort Smith has always been neat and clean whenever I visit as well. The only issue I see is what I have observed at ALL Aldi locations: they checkout the merchandise so quickly that they totally disregard the fragility of certain products! Therefore, when you go shop at ANY Aldi store, be sure to save your fragile items for very last on the conveyor belt!
(Update: 3/17/2021 As stated above, Aldi's must be training their cashier's to be extremely fast, to the point of risking damage to purchases made and at the risk of some of these cashier's not caring about anything other than speed and sometimes their pseudo friendliness! It is okay to be fast but not at the risk of damaging fragile produce or other products and also ignoring your customers request to keep two separate orders separate as one new cashier did this evening!!! She simply refused to comply to a simple request to not throw all the items of two purchases together. The lack of concern, common courtesy and common sense is disturbing at times.)
Besides the above observation, you can get really nice fresh produce for the most part, and nice surprise items in their "Aldi Finds" sections...such as these yummy crackers for some soup, or like I did today; a snack on-the-go, because it is difficult to find a plant-based cracker that is reasonably priced, not just five crackers in the box (ok, I'm exaggerating a bit) and doesn't have corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, canola oil, maltodextrin, and other undesirable ingredients in it. (See images below)
For those of you who have not shopped Aldi's yet; you will want to bring your own bags or be prepared to buy some plastic shopping bags or paper bags that all these has available at the checkout counters, or use some of their emptied product boxes if they have some available at the time that you visit. They claim this is how they can save from charging their customers more money per product.
Also you will want to have a quarter readily available for borrowing a cart to shop in. You insert the quarter into the slot on the right hand side of the cart and pull it apart from the remaining carts. When you are done you return the cart and insert the 'key' back into your cart- which pushes out your quarter. This helps them to save on expenses as well by encouraging their customers to return the cart to the...
Read moreMy aldis experience over several visits is summarized here. Prices are great. Unbeatable even. It's the best thing about going to Aldis is the money you save. However I have had a few issues with some of the products they sell. Beef purchased here is very often freezer burned or something else going on with multi colored beef. All of the produce has a shorter shelf life than what you'd find in a walmart aisle. Many of the off brand foods they sell taste so different from the version Im used to that I often get the name brand anyway at normal prices. I compare many of these off brands to the main competitor Great Value and honestly I think Great Value does it better.
Great store for a budget, a great deal or hard times but I'll keep shopping at the wal mart for most of my foods besides meat that I get at meat markets (same price better...
Read moreAldi is good most of the time. I didn't like it over the weekend because it's so crowded!! Also be careful!!! Some things will save you but certain things are cheaper elsewhere. The lady who works in the evening so kind and the young man who checks too. But there's one younger lady there and she really isn't as 👍 Anyway I find meats are better elsewhere as they are not much available and higher but things like butter and crackers and the small selection here is a pity but you can save. Often the fruit is marked down but be careful. It will spoil very quickly just as the salads will. I do like that I can save but like I say it's on certain items. Always check to make sure it's...
