Sweet Bay Coffee Co — Restaurant in Fort Smith

This is my favorite coffee shop in FS but today's service was awful! At the drive thru, they explained it would be a 15 min wait for espresso. I wanted chai so no problem. Ordered, pulled behind another pickup and we were quickly blocked in from behind. Instead of asking the guy in front of us to pull to the front to wait for his drink order, we had no choice but wait with him over 10 minutes!!!! When we finally got to the window, I asked why they had not asked him to wait out front and she said they only do that for food orders and the wait was due to unusual problems with their espresso maker. If it was unusual circumstances, how about you treat it as unusual and have customers pull around so you don't block others...even if it is only a drink order!!! The girl was extremely unapologetic. I understand machines break, but take care of ALL your customers, not just the one...

I worked here for four years. I had some amazing co workers, but the owners care nothing for their staff. In fact, they were all recently let go with hardly any warning. This isn’t even the first time they’ve done it, they considered doing the same thing before when they fired one of the old store managers and the location in the mall was shut down a couple of years ago with no warning to the staff there, leaving them with no job just a few weeks before Christmas. Not to mention the equipment was constantly breaking, the owners would leave it broken for months at a time, and the place is infested with roaches. If you’re considering going to SweetBay I would save yourself the time and just don’t. Their food and coffee is not quality and it is way too overpriced. It’s also a terrible place to work at. I come here very often bc it’s close to my house. I always order the same drink, grande iced mocha with almond milk, several times they’ve given me regular milk in my drink and were hesitant to replace it. I am lactose intolerant and I can instantly tell if it’s not almond milk, and would be paying for it later if you catch my drift. I always order a grande and they give me a double every time. not sure what the deal about that is. The food is subpar at best. it has potential but it’s so inconsistent and usually lacking some of the listed ingredients.
