One and DONE

Just bought property in the area, and wanted to get breakfast for me and Mrs. Figured I'd support local business as enjoy I doing. Walked in and it's not very clean, but I figured "greasy spoon" = great food. So no biggie. I attempted to order and saw that they looked busy... So I asked beforehand how long was the wait. I was told by the older black woman that took my order "not that long". So I proceeded to order 2 orders of pancakes (1 blueberry) 2 orderes of eggs and 2 orders of turkey bacon. Nothing too crazy or over the top. I tried to add my name to it, to make it easier later. The woman told it wasn't necessary. I then let them know I'd run next door (AutoZone) about how long on the food? No real answer.... I suggested 10-15 minutes I'm told yes maybe less. I come back over 20 minutes later, my order is still not completed. No biggie.... I just patiently wait at the counter. Over 8 minutes goes by.... No one says A WORD TO ME.... So I walk over to the register to inquire again how long. After a while the woman sees me and says it's not done yet. (Well when will it BE DONE?) I still wait patiently by the bar.... Finally I'M DONE AND REGRET EVER COMING... I see her and i ask again a full 4 minutes later. She says to me "5 minutes, they just flipped your blue berry pancakes"..... I state politely Ma'am it's been over 30 minutes!? I never expected over a half hour for some pancakes. She never apologized or offered any type of concern! I then asked for a refund! She gave it to me AND STILL NEVER APOLOGIZED!! At that point they were almost getting my order completed!! I could hear them saying it in the back... I try my HARDEST TO SUPPORT MY BLACK PPL AND THEIR BUSINESSES!!💯 I have never had as horrible and disregarded an experience as this at any local business. I can ONLY PRAY this was a one time thing. Sadly I doubt it. Steak in a Sack you've lost exactly $27.46 today, but a WHOLE LOT MORE in the future! Cause I was shown my money means...

Appearance: Very dirty and needs sanitizing immediately. Dirty counter, several dirty tables, the floor was dirty throughout the whole establishment, Omg! the ceiling what filth soooooo dirty. I would never eat inside this place.! Behind the counter shows no respect or care for long-term or new patronizing customers. 1st appearance is everything. Zero 🌟

Customer Service: I placed my order online once I was very close to the establishment. I drove in from 2 hours away. I saw the advertisement this weekend on Facebook. I love supporting black owners, especially with restaurants! I arrived 1 minute before the order was to be ready. There was a customer at the counter to pick up an order. Well he stood several minutes and decided to take a seat. Mind you I was right there standing right next to him. I was ACKNOWLEDGED after 5 or more minutes of standing at the counter. After the customer ahead me walked out. My order was already done just sitting there. Should, I have been acknowledged once he seat down and I was still standing? Good customer service would say "At least acknowledge your paying customers" Zero 🌟 YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE WILL MAKE OR BREAK YOUR BUSINESS. WORD OF MOUTH GOES WHERE NOTHING ELSE WILL!!! So, disappointed for wasting my time and money!!!!!!! My food was cold when I got in my car and started eating, right in the parking lot. Maybe, if I was acknowledged sooner my food might of been hot when I received it at the counter.

I hope and pray my next black owned and ran business is a...

I was a customer of the other steak n a sack in Temple Hills and loved going there. Not sure if this is the same management but I would say they need help in the customer service area. I called an order in and went to pick it up. No one greeted or acknowledged me for about 7-9 minutes! The guy taking phone orders was sitting in a booth with his legs across the seat looking annoyed. He didn’t move until the phone rang and he took the order and went to sit back down. Again, no service was offered. Finally a young lady asked (over loud music) if I was picking up. I said yes, and gave my name. I ordered 2 western omelets, 2 orders of home fries (fried hard), and an order of French toast. The home fries were lacking any crunch and was small when you look at the menu photos. The omelette was small was well but flavorful. The French toast was soggy and dark with no powdered sugar! I would not order again. The best thing was the omelet. I noticed the sign that read once the food is cooked , no refunds. If it wasn’t an issue there would be no need to post this sign. I’m all about patronizing small black business but this place is more like steak in a hole (in my opinion) I think they need better customer service and more attention to their food details, as well as the place overall. Not sure if I...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this small restaurant that serves up some seriously delicious home cooking! From breakfast to lunch to dinner, every dish on the menu is made with love and care. But what you should really check out is the steak-in-a-sack, the salmon cakes and pancakes and don’t forget to try the lemonade made by Kim - it's a must-try! It packs a real punch and perfectly complements the old-fashioned feel of the place. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by and check out the full menu. And don't forget to say hi to Kim! She's a gem and really adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Highly recommend!
