THE TENDER RIB FOODTRUCK — Restaurant in Fort Washington

Ok so let me start out by saying I 1st went to them a few times when they had their food truck in DC and the food was great. This is my 1st time coming here to the storefront and my experience with the service and food was HORRIBLE. When I got through to place an order via phone I was placed in hold but still heard the girls end of conversation with someone, "unprofessional", next she takes my order as I kept having to repeat myself due to the loud background noise. I had a total of 5 dinners, which upon pickup was not correct as 2 side of fries were left off from my bag, as my husband arrived home he saw she didn't put the 5th order in the bag we immediately called back and was told we can come in the morning,.. smh we shouldn't have to wait til morning for our family to eat especially being since we paid. I was told that 5th order was trashed.. hmmm ok so I ask can it be remade she said no, because there aren't any ribs left i said ok well what about the chicken she said they didn't have that either, she said she can do pulled pork and the brisket I said ok great. Once returned the order was still wrong.. I said what happened to the pork and brisket she then said she can do fish and brisket. Im extremely frustrated by what is being told and the unprofessionalism. Smh we end up taking the fish and brisket which was NOT what we wanted however my family had to eat. The 2 ribs we did have was tough, the brisket was tough, all the meat lacked flavor. The integrity of the food is completely different from what I was used to in DC not to mention how terrible and unprofessional my experience was. This was my 1st and last time...

I was extremely disappointed!! I came here a few years ago from Florida! And my first experience was absolutely amazing this was in 2021! Best ribs i had ever had in my life, blogged, posted about it!!! We love bbq and love to support local businesses and black owned businesses!! We spent about $65 first time and even bought a couple slabs of ribs back to Florida for people taste! This time coming up from Florida that was the first stop we made like it, was in the plan Frist thing, first stop! We did, we were sooo excited! We were like ok it's busy that's good! We ordered the food very crowded, felt like it was a bit dingy but whatever as long as the food was great again I'm happy! We waited about 25 plus minutes. We get to the hotel so we can eat and shower after a 14 hour drive super excited to have tender rib! Posted about it, blogged about it! I was soooooo disappointed i wanted to cry! The sauce was great, greens weren't bad, mac and cheese had hardly any cheese in it! You could taste the sour cream, cream cheese, and very little cheddar wasn't cheesey at all not much flavor or cooked to makecheese melt! The ribs had absolutely no flavor or seasoning on it and we had burnt, i mean burnt peices i have pictures but for some reason it won'tlet me post them. The food was GREAT! However, the lady at the register and the one who brought our food out - did not have pleasant attitudes. Neither of them smiled or said thank you or come back again or anything Welcoming. They both looked miserable. The guy in the back was much better - greeting people and smiling. Beware of a couple things: If you want the lunch special - you better say lunch special - cause if you don’t say lunch special - no matter if it is during the lunch special time - you won’t get the lunch special or the price. All lunches and dinners come with two sides. My husband got the wings - lunch special was 3 wings and two sides for $7.99. Instead because he didn’t say lunch special - he got the dinner which was 4 wings and two sides for $11.99 so he paid $4 for one more wing. ALSO CHECK YOUR BAG BEFORE YOU LEAVE. We saw other people checking their bags so we did - we were missing a side and a piece of cake. The register girl looked at us like we were crazy and she didn’t understand what we were saying until we showed her our receipt and then she said “I don’t pack the food - so I don’t know what they put in the bags.” Still no smile . And we had to ask for eating utensils. One last thing - sweet tea is SUPER sweet. TOO SWEET and they don’t have unsweetened tea. Even though the food was great - we will not be going back...
