My sister and I was passing through the area and stopped to get our children something to eat and when we entered the establishment there was no one in sight. I walked up to the register and saw a worker standing right there. I asked her was we supposed to seat ourselves and she said no and proceeded to go back to whatever she was doing. So I walked away and stood back with my family. 15 minutes rolled past and still no one addressed us or even said hello we will be right with you. Then the same young lady walks up and starts checking out customers who were already abt to leave. They walked up AFTER we already been standing there for that long while. Then she looked at us and finally said "Oh he"ll be there in a minute" and continued to check customers out. Then the person she wa referring to walks up and looked at her and asked how many ppl do they have smh right in front of us. The young lady respond "8" with an attitude. We peeped the scene and just decided to leave seeing we were clearly not welcomed there. I told them nvm and as we walked away they just watched us leave. Not an I'm sorry for the inconvenience etc nothing! I've never used the race card but even a white customer exited as we did and told us that was award and that he couldn't believe they treated us that way and then he offered us other places we could try that was near us, seeing we are not from Fort Wayne but was passing through on our way to Ohio. That was the most unwelcoming awkward feeling I ever had! And then for it to happen in front of my children upsets me even more. All we was trying to do was feed them breakfast that's it but was met with discrimination. I will be calling corporate about this because I feel very triggered. They did want us there and made it clear by...
Read moreWe were on our way home today from a long 2 day drive from southern GA. We actually searched with our GPS to find a Bob Evens for a late lunch. My wife and I were both tired. We walked into the restaurant and found no one near the hostess desk. We stopped and waited. After about 2 minutes or so someone from the grill area yelled "be right with you". We stood and waited for another 5 minutes or so, and I said in a loud voice "Hello" and in a short time someone finally came out and took us to a table. all the while telling us what a hectic day it had been. She said our waitress would be right out. That was not true. The waitress didn't show up for a while. We talked to the man at the next table and he said he got the same treatment. We finally got some drinks and the waitress started to walk away with the menus that I has set aside, because we knew what we wanted (We are familiar with the Bob Evens Menu) So I asked if she was going to take our order, and she came back to the table. I placed an order for two Sunshine Skillets. When the order fimally arrived, the man next to us commented that he had also ordered the Sunshine Skillet, but his had been delivered on an open plate.
Our Skillet meals were low on vegitables an high on skimpy gravy. The were not what we normally receive when we place the same order in other B.E. stores. Needless to say if we are ever in the Fort Wayne area in the future, we'll stop at a Waffle House before we would stop at that Bob Evens store again. Oh...sorry to say but the gals received no tip...
Read moreSaturday 9/14/2024 10:20 am. We’re shown to our table but the hostess forgot to tell the server she sat us, so we are back in the corner and watched other tables being sat and servers helping them. Finally we caught the attention of a server as we yelled or at her is there anyone serving this section. She immediately apologized and got our order. What was the most disappointing was the food. I ordered fried HARD eggs, and asked for extra crispy bacon. Mind you we made sure she knew we wanted not just crisp but extra crispy bacon. Our food arrived and bacon was limp and my eggs still had soft yokes. I blame both the cooks and the server. I waited tables for years and the waitress is supposed to check the order before she brings it out. You could see how limp the bacon was as she sat down the plate on the table. No we did not send it back as I know what cooks do to returned orders. As I said I was a waitress for YEARS. So I barely ate any of mine and neither did my friend. I will say the hash-browns were very crispy and good, but that was all. We still tipped 20% because we understand waitress wages. Not going to breakfast is a treat that’s what made it so disappointing. When Social Security is all the money you have every penny counts count on Bob Evans for super yummy breakfast. Nope. We will not be back. Cracker Barrel at least understands crispy bacon and eggs fried hard. Sad they messed up such a...
