Corner Pocket Pub — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Corner Pocket is always a great place to go to get reasonably priced (but excellent) food and drinks. All the staff are amazing. I have never had an issue here except tonight when I went in with my boyfriend and brother. We went in to get a few drinks and food and play some pool and for whatever reason our server on our side, Taylor, was deliberately avoiding us. She was very on top of all her tables, but when she would make eye contact with us or headed towards our table she would deliberately avoid us. She had not come up to us a single time in our 1.5 hours there to check on us to ask if we needed anything including food or drinks, to the point we felt uncomfortable even going up to her to ask for something. When we had issues with our pool table releasing our balls twice she was very short and quite rude. We did voice our concerns to other staff and they apologized and were great in telling us to feel free to continue coming up to the bar to order any food or drinks needed, just as we had the whole night because Taylor made us feel so uncomfortable with her deliberate avoidance and rudeness when we would go up to her to help with the pool tables not releasing the balls after putting the four quarters in. I do not ever complain about workers and understand they can have some bad nights, but this seemed much more than that. We do not get to go out much with work and college, and Taylor really put a damper on our fun night out. First the good: The food there is amazing!! Now the bad: We had to wait what seemed like an eternity for our server to come over and take our order (there was 4 in our party). I actually had to go to the bar to ask for someone to come over. A different server took our order which was fine at least we were getting somewhere. Food came out rather quickly but yet again, our server was MIA. When she finally did come back around, we were in desperate need of drinks and 2 in our party had to order "to-go" orders. We tried to explain to her how the orders were being separated on our bills. She brought out our to go orders and they were placed together, they were supposed to be separate. I told her I needed an extra sauce for my to go order and my bill. I waited, and waited, and waited. I finally couldn't wait any longer. I gave a $20 to one of the people that was in my party and asked for him to pay my bill, I couldn't wait any longer. He called me at 9:00 (20 min after I left) and told me that she had just now brought my extra sauce and the bill out. She said my bill was $20.17. I ONLY HAD 10 WINGS ON MY BILL!!!!!! How in the hell was my bill over $20????? She had extra food on my bill that was also on another person in my party's bill. And saving the best for last, after they explained to her that the bill was not right. She walked away with my $20 AND NEVER CAME BACK WITH CHANGE!!!!!! WTH???!!! Not happy, seriously considering...

Nothing fancy about the place, but fancy isn't needed when you just wanna kick back and hang out for an evening. I've spent many summer nights on their patio having a great time with friends. Their food is excellent 👌. It's not your average bar food. Their salads are amazing 👏. Their appetizers are great. My favorite go-to is always the Munchers dipped in homemade ranch, I never want to share them. 🤣 The entrees are very good also that I've tried. Their drinks are average. Nothing unusual or extra special about those. The space is nice and open and has a lot of it. There are plenty of pool tables usually.

I've only had a couple of issues with the employees behind the bar being unnecessarily rude.

For the most part, the wait staff are friendly. The wait time between drink/food orders and the turnaround time can be lengthy, but I've learned to make my orders worthwhile and double up when they're extra busy.

I do recommend CP for a good meal and a decent environment. It can get a little rowdy on the weekends, so if that's not your thing, go early and...
