Dreaming Tree Cafe — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

The staff was very friendly & attentive. The place is beautiful. The lattee was good. The issues I have are with the food and pricing. I ordered the caprese sandwich. The sun dried tomatoes on this sandwich were huge and, because they are sundried, cannot be bitten into. I had to take them all off & couldn't eat them because they were so tough. So without the tomatoes I had mozzarella and pesto on an un toasted (or maybe extremely lightly toasted) soft baguette. The texture was not pleasing. The pesto flavor and mozzarella were ok. But the other issues really took away from what this could have been. Additionally, I paid $12 for the sandwich which came with no chips or side, just the sandwich. There's no meat on this sandwich so that just seems very upsetting at that price that they can't add to the value by including a handful of chips or something else on the side. This place is just what SW Fort Wayne needed! The food and vibes are perfect. I got the caprese sandwich, and it was everything I hoped for and more! An earlier review mentioned the sun-dried tomatoes on this sandwich, and said they weren't good. They have since switched them with fresh tomatoes, and the tomato I got was perfectly ripe and yummy. One area this place could improve is their espresso. For flavored lattes with lots of milk and syrups, I'm sure it's passable, but it's not very good on its own. I got an iced americano (espresso + water), it was pretty bitter and burnt tasting. They may need to adjust grind size, or dial in the machine a bit to bring out the sweet, smooth flavors good espresso has. It was also very dark (almost black), while it should have been a nice dark brown. For now, this is a great lunch place, but not so much a great coffee shop. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere at The Dreaming Tree Café was warm, welcoming, and full of charm. The service was top-notch — genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell the staff really care about creating a great experience.

The food? Outstanding. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My personal favorites were the soup specials — each one packed with comfort and creativity — and the Rocket Sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. Perfectly balanced flavors and overall delicious!
