I've been going to Lexy's all my life - was born in the early 80s. It was my go to every Friday night when I had a choice, and even used to live behind it. I'd moved out of town many years ago, but made it a point to visit every time I came back to town .
After today, my 40 year support of Lexy's is sadly over.
I came into town for the first time in a few years and ordered my usual sausage roll. Before I got there, I had someone tell me the food had changed. I didn't care - I wanted my Lexy's.
Upon arrival, I was handed a "sausage roll" that was the size of a sandwich. I told the kid working I'd heard the food had changed, but wasn't expecting the size. He snapped back instantly "Thats not true at all". I told him the size they used to be and he ignored me, flippant handed me my change and I shook my head and left.
Lexy's has become a total joke with horrid employees at the Spring Street location. Especially insulting to see "generous portions" on the door and getting something less than half the size of the old ones.
Goodbye, Lexy's, not that you care and will still be supported by a new group who don't know the truth about the good quality food AND service we used to get. Now...its all garbage. You can do better, sadly, you've lost a long time customer with your "modernized" menu.
And fire that kid that worked today....
Read moreWe order from here several times a month There pizza we believe is the best in Fort Wayne. We order the same pizza every time and most of not all know exactly how we like it done. Today my wife went to pick up our order and there's a huge difference between well done and BURNT. So the counter person showed my wife the pizza and my wife stated last time it was BURNT she didn't say anything but this time she was going to until the counter person said we can make you another which my wife said THANK YOU! HOWEVER ANOTHER PERSON JOHN WHO MADE A FEW COMMENTS AND ROLLED HIS EYES. NOW IVE SEEN THIS GUY GO OFF ON PEOPLE A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP OUR ORDER..I HAVE NO IDEA WHOM THIS GUY IS IF HE IS PART OWNER OR JUST A EMPLOYEE WHO THINKS HE IS THE REASON FOR LEXYS SUCCESS. I KNOW THE OWNER MOST LIKELY NOT SEE THIS OR EVEN RESPOND TO THIS REVIEW. BUT IF YOU HAVE A PARTNER OR A EMPLOYEE WHO TREATS CUSTOMERS THIS WAY WITH COMMENTS AND ROLLING HIS EYES SOME DAY SOME ONE WILL ROLL HIS HEAD. THERES ANOTHER PIZZA PLACE HERE IN TOWN THAT S FROM CHICAGO WHERE REAL PIZZA IS MADE. MAYBE OUR BUSINESS SHOULD START GOING THERE. WE'RE DRIVING FROM THE FAR EAST SIDE TO PURCHASE YOUR PIZZA AND ROLLS. A FEW MILES NORTH WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM FOR US. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS...
Read moreStaying at a hotel in Fort Wayne for a recent weekend and we were looking for pizza. Normally we stay on the north end but were staying a little farther south and away from the Dupont location of Lexy's, so we decided to try this location instead (it was muchly closer to our hotel).
The Lexy's location is kind of hidden in more-residential-than-business area, and I believe this may be the original location of Lexy's. No matter, because the menu is the same and we love the Neapolitan pizza.
After a somewhat challenging drive (Waze got confused and tried to send us down a road that wasn't there) we made it Lexy's. This location is muchly smaller than the Dupont location and had a well-worn, "been here a long time" feel. As I recall there were a couple tables, but this location is more of a carry-out place.
When we arrived our order was ready and the gentlemen inside was pleasant and proudly presented us our Neapolitan pizza, even opening the box to make sure it was accurate.
That was it. Then we drove away and took a much-less challenging drive back to our hotel. The Neapolitan was great and never disappoints.
Lexy's is great, but we only get to enjoy it when we're in Fort Wayne...and that's about a 4 hour drive from...
