La Michoacana Restaurante y Paleteria — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Today was my first visit to this place and I got three tacos and a cup of elote. The tacos were decent but the side sauces were very artificial. They tasted like they were made from a packet and were very diluted. The elote looked good but tasted awful. I'm used to eating real Mexican elotes, you know, the kind on real cob, but having it on a cup was fine too until it felt like I was drinking corn instead of eating it with mayo and cheese. That's right, the elote cup was not dry, half of the cup was filled with water and lime juice. I also ordered cheetos with cheese that didn't taste good. I grew up in southern California and these are food I ate daily. I was disappointed with the quality and especially how everything was overpriced. What ticked me off was that they made a mistake on my bill and charged me $1.50 extra (by accident). If i could no stars i would. I called ahead of time and was given a 15 minute wait. I arrive and they tell me 15 more minutes which actually turned out to be a half hour! Spent 65$ at this place and not one item i bought was edible. Nothing had any flavor, portions are VERY small for the price, and my bfs food was literally SWIMMING in grease. The first red flag was that i order so much food, but when we walked in the restaurant you couldnt even smell any food in the air . I ordered a steak torta. It came on a huge plank of bread. It reminded me of a half of a French loaf that you can buy at Kroger. The bread was OK but definitely not fresh. The first two bites were bread alone. The third bite I finally got to the meat and toppings. The flavor of the meat was ok, but the texture left a lot to be desired. The steak was diced into tiny cubes that were over cooked and fell out onto you lap with each bite. The toppings were fine. I also got one scoop of strawberry cheesecake ice cream.
