Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Our first time here we were so impressed by the staff and the food, we went again the next day with the family! The staff was friendly and helpful in telling us about their different treats. The custard is so thick and creamy, it puts all other ice cream products to shame. The Italian ice was very good. We had blueberry lemonade Italian Ice and the following Gelati's raspberry w/ chocolate custard, mango w/ vanilla custard, blue raspberry w/ blackberry custard, blue raspberry w/ strawberry custard, and peach w/ vanilla custard. We came at 8:45 and the doors were locked. It says the hours were updated a week ago so this seems to be the right closing time. We knew it was close to the closing time so we planned to just tip more than normal. The ice cream is usually good but the service is usually younger girls with a little bit of attitude. Even when we went to open the door the girls were just staring and making weird faces and laughing. I get they are younger kids but I don’t want to come to a business where the hours online are wrong and then get laughed at for trying to come when they are...

I had the s’mores Italian ice with salted caramel custard — the perfect combo of sweet and creamy. The kids loved their gummy bear ice with a mix of strawberry, vanilla, and cotton candy custards.
